Premier League club keen on summer swoop for Bristol City star Bristol City’s towering centre-back Aden Flint has drawn interest from Premier League club West Brom who are eyeing up a £2 million move for the defender in the summer. Albion boss Tony Pulis has sent scouts to watch the 26 year-old in action and has been impressed with what he’s heard about the former England C international. Flint has been with Bristol City since 2013 and has gone on to make over 100 appearances for the Robins, and was a vital part of the squad which won promotion from League One in the 2014-15 season. please log in to view this image In the same season, Flint also played a huge role in the games which led to the Robins lifting the Football League Trophy, defeating Walsall 2-0 at Wembley. Prior to his time at Ashton Gate, Flint plied his trade for Swindon Town after starting his career with non-league side Alfreton. While with Swindon Flint won promotion from League Two in the 2011-12 season and amassed over 60 appearances during his three year stay at the County Ground. Despite his relatively young age the 6’7″ defender has already got over 300 career appearances to his name and has two years left on his deal with Bristol City. ************************************************* The giant centre-back was a key part of the Robins promotion last term and has also been watched by Sunderland boss Sam Allardyce http://the72.co.uk/49140/premier-league-club-keen-on-summer-swoop-for-bristol-city-star/ http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/west-brom-eyeing-2million-summer-7479843
Everyone has their price. £2m seems cheap though for last season's top scoring defender in ALL the leagues. I wouldn't blame him if he wanted to go - he ain't gonna see Premiership football with us any time soon - and time ticks away fast for footballers.
Hmm - I'm sure he's on the radar for a few clubs, but I'm not convinced he'd be a 1st team regular in the Prem - YET. Could be that WBA are speculating whether it's better to try and swoop in now, before his value increases... Having said that, he's got 3 years left on his contract and he's important to us, so we've got a strong hand. I'm sure a big enough bid would entice us to sell (£4m maybe?), especially if he pushes for a move himself. Would be sad to see him go though - great aerial presence at both ends of the pitch and he's adapting to the Championship.
I'm sure everyone said Vardy wasn't prem quality. Truth is nobody knows until they actually have a couple of seasons against the best. Personally think he could make the step up so long as he had someone quicker next to him. He'd be more than capable than handling Lukaku, Giroud, Costa etc physically
Is it ****! love the bloke but if someone offered 5m for him I'd let flinty grab hold of my bollocks and I'd drag him to West Brom.
Flint is a much better footballer than people give him credit for, with better players around him he could compete in the prem!
