We were warned countless times that Swansea could punish us on the break and from sloppy errors. Even when we were the better side, we came close to conceding a few. Why did we play a low line vs West Ham and a high line vs Swansea? It's supposed to be a lower line vs sides with pace, and a higher line vs sides with bigger players.

We started extremely well, but just couldn't finish.

Credit to Swansea, they defended very well and dealt with all we had to give, and stuck to their plan. They looked a far more organised side that us. They could have scored 5/6 goals.

    Ratings -

Krul - 5 - Some good saves in the first half, but his poor kicking was eventually going to cost us. He looked very low on confidence and very shakey for most of the game.

Simpson - 5 - Can't really be blamed for much, but not very good. He can't cross for ****.

Willo - 4 - His sense of positioning is embarrassing at times, it really is. It's like ****ing none league quality.

Saylor - 5 - Solid first half, sloppy errors in the second and some poor decision making.

Santon - 6 - Tried his best to get us up the pitch, but to no avail. Apart from a few hiccups he was decent in defence.

Anita - 7 - Thought he was one of our brightest sparks, and made some fantastic runs forward and is starting to look like what we payed for. Could have grabbed a goal today. Unlucky.

Tiote - 6 - Much better, but some pissing about still took place. At least he didn't get booked and his decision making was a bit better. He's the only one that put a decent ball into the box today. Still some ****e passing though.

Sammy - 5 - Some awful play due to inexperience, but some good sparks also. Tried his best. Still developing.

Ferguson - 5 - A canny first half with some decent deliveries. Nothing too special today though, unfortunately.

Ben Arfa - 6.5 - Some great skill but just couldn't quite put the finishing touch on some of his moves. Still, he was the only one in the 2nd half that really produced that much quality, and looked our only threat.

Ba - 5 - Should have scored more than the one he put in the net today. Not great, but some good winning of the ball up top and had a decent first half.

Shola - 3 - Couldn't really do much other than knock the ball down to nobody.

Bigi - n/a - Some great little balls, some poor ones. I don't think it would be fair to criticise this lad at all today. He couldn't rescue a **** going down the toilet.

Marv - n/a - Some good quality late on, but couldn't quite open up Swansea. Some great passing at times.

    MOTM - Anita for me.

Overall - Great start, **** finish. Simple as. We deserved nothing from our last two games.

    Maintain the faith!

You say Santon was good in defence but he was caught out for the first goal. He must have played well other than this?

Agreed that was the cause but Santon could have prevented it by tracking Mitchu.

Just watched the goal a few more times. I may be being a tad harsh on Santon. He wasn't quite as close to Michu as I 1st thought. Still though he could see all the danger and I still think he could have made a better effort to challenge Michu

Also I know we were pushing for a goal but Santon left the whole right side open for their second too

Apart from this though he must have played well??

Oh well, made up for the last game at the liberty when you only had 2 chances and got them both

Anita MOM and you gave Taylor a 5. For me Taylor was head and shoulders above anyone else today. Santon did alright.

Last two comments really, though he was average, too many players under performing every week. It's bad coaching and if we aren't careful we will be in relegation trouble next weekend.

Dowd was looking a bit chubby wasn't he. Almost started a chant about the little fat ****er. Thought he might have taken it out on the team though.

Oh, he did do didn't he!

Poor performance again. In a bit of a rut at present and struggling with injuries. I wanted Sammy to play yesterday. What was I thinking! Krul obviously had a bit of a shocker and I felt he was poor for both goals. Anita did ok for the first time and seems to be finding his feet. I thought Tiote did quite well and Dowd was very fair with him. We are just still struggling to create and when we do, we're not taking our chances. Demba really should have scored earlier yesterday and the missed chances ramped up the pressure.

To be honest I thought all 4 defenders were ok. People will say "we conceded two at home" but missed chances and mistakes like Krul are to legislate for. We're a bit "bluster with no punch" at present though. The lads are feeling the pressure and struggling to make territory count. Then we are pushing so hard we look vulnerable on the counter. We need some calm brought back into our play. For all of Benni's skill, his end product is pretty poor and his decision making fairly poor. Saying that Ba should have buried the flat ball he played in first half. Disappointing and we have to pick up quickly. Amazingly due to how tight the league is, we can still go either way but the problem is the last two games were ones we needed 6 points from. We had enough of the game and enough chances to come away from something despite underperforming but once again we lacked quality in the final third.

No need to panic but on current form we'll do well to make the top 6. We'll do well to make the top half being honest!

Tiote was a beast today as some have mentioned.
Hope such form continues for him, it'll do us good

Sammy and Fergie are too raw at the moment....
Fergie has been told to cross at every opportunity,
But seriously?! Every opportunity?! And end up with several bad crosses that got nowhere.
Sammy is like a much-much raw-er Ben Arfa, and Ben Arfa isn't even the complete player
Sammy doesn't play with any football smarts whatsoever. Doesn't look up, fails to spot Ba's run to the left,
he dribbles down the left and crosses the ball to nobody in the box

Anita had a better game than his poor past games, and glad to see that

Willo is still ****. gtfo, get a new CB(Priority #1)

Need a RB who can at least cross, not to even mention attack to take some pressure off double teams on Ben Arfa(Priority #2)

Santon has been far and away our most consistent player for the season...We can't blame him for those goals. We had a pathetic gameplan

I must admit I felt we were much worse against West Ham bar the last 30 mins yesterday. Seriously frustrating end to the game,

We agree at last mate :emoticon-0167-beer:

We were worse against West Ham, only really created half chances against them where as Ba had 2 or 3 very good chances yesterday, chances where you'd expect him to score more times than miss in my opinion.
