It has been reported that before our game tonight with Barnsley, that Steeevvvveee Morison is close to tying up a two and half year extension with the club. Good news for Lions fans as I feel he would be generally missed as not just for his goals but workrate, chasing of balls he should not win but does, flicks and hold up play...... He is a class act and this may be and probably is a wish but hope he can stay for the rest of his career and help Millwall reach Premiership glory
Rumour of 1.5 million. Dunno what to think of that really. Anyway, if a Prem club comes up with an excellent offer of say 2-3 million he'll be off, contract or not.
Premiership clubs are hard to turn down as you must think as football as a job really, would you trade a job getting 20k a year to a job getting 60k..... I think we all know the answer.
also if he is under a longer term contract, his value is higher then if he only had 1 year or less left
Exactly what I was thinking rockmountainlion Still think he could be away in the summer but the contract is a safeguard and a good idea given our signings in the January window so far.
The extension should guarantee we get a good fee for him should he decide to move. Like Adam said if he is offered double or triple what he is currently on who can blame him for taking it. Would be amazed if any of us would turn that kind of job offer down. 2-0 and Moro's bagged one of them
Before the game tonight it was announced by Deano Standing that we have signed Hameur Bouzza on loan till the end of season, apparently with a view to permanant.... also I feel this could mean the end to Puncheon coming back
Ok lads let's start a debate who is the best centre forward you have seen for mill wall sherringham, woods ..
What about Pat Terry? If he wasn't scoring goals he was knocking the opposing centre half or goalkeeper out! Seriously though got to be Teddy. He scored goals whoever played up front with him.Neil Harris comes a close second but he was never the same profilic scorer after his cancer operation.
Sherringham was our best ever player. Becoming our highest ever scorer by the age of 24. All goals being scored in the top two divisions. His final season saw him score 38 which included 4 hat tricks. He was skilful, could score from anywhere, was good in the air and also link up play. He was also quite quick over 5 yards, despite what people said.
Was Mark Mccammon our worst striker ? We gave him a two year contract, was injured for the first year, then didn't score a single goal when fit.
The best that I've seen is Neil Harris just for that fact I am not old enough to see Teddy in a millwall shirt..... apart from DVD About Mark McCammon I have a mate who supports Gills and apparently he is on 3,000 a week and never gets played.... plus no-one wants to by him coz he crap
Mccammon scored a couple and got a MOTM award against Palace when he was on loan. Remember the SLP saying Palace 'couldn't handle his pace and power' ! A Brentford fan also said he was rubbish.
Talking of loans, McCarthy gave Jason Beckford a contract after just one game. Beckford then spent his contract falling over whenever the ball came near him.
Mick also spent 300k on Jason Van Blerk after one pre season friendly. He couldn't get in the team as we already had Ben Thatcher. Eventually he was played out of position. Now calm down Adam, don't started on McCarthy.
