Can anyone tell me why the home performances are so poor compared to the away form.

I believe its the moaners and groaners in the crowd. Especially the pillocks that boo or ironically cheer their own players.

I've been to quite a few away games and the atmosphere is far better than that at home. The City fans perpetually sing, cheer and support the team. At home the moaners start as soon as any player makes a minor error... it hardly instills confidence. I notice this a great deal in the West stand where I sit. The East and South stands seem much more supportive.

It MUST affect the players. Tell me if you think I am wrong!!!

Agreed, what kind of supporters boo their own team instead of trying to encourage them?

I'd say it was to do more with one-dimensional tactics. We sit back and try to counter attack every game, it works away when the onus is on the home team to attack, but obviously doesn't at home.

Atmosphere could have some effect, but I'd say it had more to do with the poor tactics at home.

    Agreed.
As well though, the fans who boo/cheer players off should **** right off.

I agree with the sentiments above. I did post an article about how much I hate people who boo their own players and I stand by it, but I've been to every home game this season and it's just been poor. The away games have been fine, it's like a different team. It works both ways, if the team play well then the crowd is lifted but if the crowd start jeering it demoralises them and they start losing confidence. There hasn't been much to cheer about at the KC this year, I'll give the crowd that, but they should be singing no matter what.

As for the tactics, it seems as though NP is content to nick a goal and win 1-0, not unlike PB was. It isn't a bad tactic if we have the pace to counter, but we don't. Our midfielders seem to be scoring more goals than our strikers, which is a slight worry for me, especially on the creative side of things. I am fully behind NP, don't get me wrong, but it would be nice to see him play attacking football, like we did today against Watford, instead of this static passing in triangles crap we seem intent on playing at home.

Counter attacking works away, doesn't work at home. We can't play any other way. Which is why as the home side when the onus is on us to attack we can't.

Thanks for that. Another explanation might be that we lost some pace and width when Cameron Stewart was injured. We seem to try to take veryting down the middle now. This was emphasised even more when resenior wasn't playing for the Millwall game.

NP knows the capabilities of his players and he adapts his tactics to suit.
At home you need to have three or four dangerous players who can force goals. This is because the opposition will always set up defensively and have to be broken down. We haven't got those players yet (because Pearson has only had funds available for one transfer window) so home results are suffering.
He tried to change the team shape against Norwich to make up for this deficiency and it worked pretty well. Then we lost Rosenior who was a key player in that system and the players (not Pearson) had an off day against Millwall, which always seems to happen to City after an international break.
It's not rocket science that we are doing better away from home because the home team has to attack. This means we don't have to force the game so much because there are always going to be chances on the break. Basically our defence is the main reason we are getting results on the road.
Most City supporters can see the improvement Pearson has made in a very short space of time and like most I think he deserves our patience. So don't listen to the WUM with an agenda, as usual he is only taking the piss.

I miss Boothferry, 5000 in there made more noise than the KC because they were all hardcore fans and no plastics, the fans didn't expect us to win every game and were happy with the result rather than the performance.

Counter attacking football works when you are soaking up pressure and you have quick pacey players on the break to allow you to break away and score, both the same team plays home and away, the same team soaks up exactly the same pressure home and away, the same team misses chances they would take away from home but misses them at home. It is not the system, it is the players who go out there look a different side at home they look nervous to run with it, they look backwards not forwards.

NP isn't thick, he knows we have problems at home and he'll be running every scenario possible to figure out why we are so ineffective at home. We are a work in process, there are a damn lot more positives than negatives and we will just have to see where we are this time next year

its a shame that we've regained out away form and our home form has gone again. We do need to find a good balance between home and away, but it also doesn't help that the atmosphere at the KC seems so poor lately. And yeah any person in the KC stadium booing off one of our players is not a true fan and should be ashamed of themselves. Back the players no matter what
