Expecting Big Things Today

Okay with the weekend rumours gathering pace, the sun is shining outside my window and I am expecting two juicy signings to be announced today and at least ease the frustrations of being a Leeds fan in pre-season.

Lonergran and Lichaj are the two being suggested but will this be enough? Could we get a surprise third if so who? Fingers crossed it isn't another day of inactivity...

 

Alexandre Mendy I hope,plus a new striker,we're definitely lacking quality up front.

I wouldn't expect a trialist today when we have as long as we like to look at them. Lonergan or Lichaj seem the most likely candidates and I would expect 1 signing today with a couple more by the end of the week. I don't see us deciding anything about the trialists until at least after Norway.

 

yea agreed simon, i think lonergan will be confirmed today maybe lichaj at the end of the week and maybe a third (clingan or johnson, maybe cohen) probably on monday next week

 

Yeah, then possibly any trialists still left before the end of the season plus possibly a striker on loan (but Mendy can play up front aswell so I don't see it as being vital).

 

yea thats not including the trialists which could include bodo, mendy and osbourne still but with the striker thing the more i look at it, the more i am seeing it as vital, paynter cant play to save his life. Mccormack, although im backing him this season, he cant play upfront on his own, neither can nunez and i wouldnt rely on a makeshift striker thats actually a winger and we've only seen him play a couple games before. Or maybe we can combine those three and play 442 with mccormack and nunez or mendy upfront? who knows

But anyway i would feel a lot more confortable with a striker coming in on a short 3 month loan but cant think of any ideal candidates to be honest

Well I guess it would be nice for any new player to meet the team before the season starts and get a few practice games in hopefully geling with his new team mates. The clock is ticking and the sunshine has now vanished behind a cloud.

I expected two, hoped for three, I guess one is better than nothing...

 

He did only say one. I would expect one or two more by the end of the week though.

It doesn't mean you should be disappointed because we didn't sign more players than Larry had said we would.
