Another thing he said in Zilina, as I've posted many times, is that he received a substantial acceptable offer on the eve of the FA cup final but decided to reject it. No reasons why or hints at who it was from before you ask.
Anyone buying the club would be buying the team and the league that they are in and all the money that comes with it! I doubt we will hear anything until we have secured another year in the EPL? ( hopefully )
It is no secret that if he received an offer he would accept it. He said this in a series of interview on Humberside. I think almost every club in the world is for sale at the right price. I am however unsure whether their threats are idle in a bid to push the council further into selling them the stadium.
Your guess is as good as mine but considering a lot of the rubbish he came out with I think he had an agenda and deliberately leaking was exactly his plan.
Well you're right about that. It always makes me laugh when clubs say "XX player is not for sale". What, so if someone offered you £500million you wouldnt sell him? Almost every commodity on the planet that someone owns is for sale. Agreed again. No matter what we think he certainly isnt stupid and he knows that by telling fans things - whether they're true or not - the information will get into the public domain because fans like telling each other things that nobody else knows. A lot of the stuff that has been said in private meetings he will have been hoping gets into the public domain.
Didn't a Russian club backed by an oil sugar daddy bid £400m for Messi some years back? And say he was willing to offer £500k per week?
Have you totted up what our playing staff are worth nowadays? It's not like it was under Duffen, we've actually got a fair bit of value in there now. And I'm not sure he wants all his money back, he's already had about £20m back in interest and group tax benefits.
No you're wrong - Allam has GIVEN Hull and its people this gift. There was nothing in it for him. When did any of you lot from CTWD GIVE as much to the club etc, etc repeat ad nauseum.
If its true that the club made a profit last year I can imagine his enterprise has been hit with a heft tax bill. When's a football clubs financial year end, 31st August?
I despair of you if you think HCC are the innocents in all this, and that they have only the best interests of the people of Hull in mind. They are a bunch of incompetent, arrogant fools who, over the years, have pissed away every good opportunity that has come the City's way. Remember how it was once the richest council in the UK? I don't blame Allam for refusing to deal with that rabble.
If he's willing to write off a chunk then I'm happy. I'm just concerned that new owners are unpredictable, and could go a number of ways, none of which would be good.
Poor phrasing on my part. I meant to suggest there's much more chance of getting worse owners than better or the same standard owners.
If they do sell, a lot will depend on what type of owners we get whether SB stays. He has enjoyed the autonomy given to him by the Allam's to get on with the job without much interference, so as long as the new owners do the same he may well stay, but if not that could be the excuse he would give for leaving.
Yeah, they built a stadium with that money. Now who uses that again? And it's a shame said stadium had no impact on improving the users fortunes. And all those who complain about councillors, it's all in your hands.....
