Whilst you could be right, you could also be wrong. You're just making massive assumptions and blanket statements based on your own perception of the situation rather than from a numeral point of view. The Allams look more committed to the club now than they ever have done before. They have signed many developmental squad players, invested heavily in the first team and plan to create a new 6million pound training facility at Bishop Burton. Of cause they give a s**t about the stadium size but they have been forced to have to rethink their position and what to do next. What else could they possibly do? and this is where the Hull Tigers situation came from as they felt forced to look at other extreme plans to generate more income. I would expect the stadium issue to raise its head again in the near future. It is essential that the stadium is extended and that goes for the current owners or the next owners. This isn't the Allams problem it is the long term future of the clubs problem. Currently our stadium is 17th in the Premier League in terms of capacity which will drop to 18th when QPR get a new stadium. There is also 18 stadiums in the leagues below us that have a higher capacities which is a terrible position to be in. The expansion is essential and if it doesn't happen then it is at the detriment of the club. We need a capacity that reflects the ambition of the club and currently it doesn't. Their bitter rivalry will have to be put to one side because personal spats can not overflow when it is at the detriment of people of Hull. Arsenal Man Utd Newcastle Man City SUNDERLAND!!!!!!!!!!!!! Liverpool Tottenham Everton Chelsea Aston Villa West Ham Southampton Ipswich Nottingham Forest Sheff Wed Leeds Middlesbrough Cardiff Derby County Sheff Utd Coventry Blackburn Wolverhampton Stoke West Brom Crystal Palace Brighton MK Dons Birmingham City Bolton Charlton Norwich Fulham Equal to Wigan and Bradford Some of these places are towns or cities with a smaller population and catchment area than Hull.
I'm not making any assumptions. Hull Tigers was never anything to do with revenue generation, it was just an attempt to get at the council. I agree that it's likely that any new owner would address the stadium size.
You think they wanted to drop City from the club name because the council is called Hull City Council? It is so strange that we are fans of the same club but our perception of the situation is polar opposites.
We stayed in the same hotel a he and his family in Zilina, and my old man decided to go have a lengthy chat with him and Ehab. It was just one of many things he said. Another was that its a priority to expand the stadium and get another 10,000 seats in.
10k expansion at least is essential. I don't doubt you had a conversation with him or that any of these things where spoken about. But why would he drop such massive information like that to a fan in a hotel. It is like deliberately leaking information. That is the kind of stuff you can run off to the papers with.
Our perceptions of the situation are probably different because I've met with AA to discuss it and you haven't. 'I will not have Hull City Council basking in the reflective glory of Hull City'.
I feel like this is big news to be casually dropping in a completely unrelated thread.. Where have you heard that we're in talks with someone? It makes no sense for Allam to fork out money on guys like Hernandez, Diame, Snodgrass, etc. if he's just about to sell up.
If the Richard Branson thing is a rumour with weight then surely the ulterior motive would be KC Communications.
It's not the first time it's been posted, it's been on other threads. Anyone wanting to sell anything wants to sell it at the top of the market, will Hull City's stock ever be higher than it is now? Probably not.
You mention this a quite a casual and flippant way. 'I will not have Hull City Council basking in the reflective glory of Hull City' are words I can fully imagine been said by Allam but do not equate to the entire reason of Hull Tigers. A certain extent of it was finically motivated.
I have never seen it posted in other thread, much less confirmation that we are currently in talks with a buyer. Sure, but what are they buying? We have no real assets beyond the playing staff. Are they going to be willing to pay 100m to the Allams for that privilege? I doubt it. Will the Allams write off a chunk of their debt to force the sale through? I also doubt it - but that would be better for us.
