ladies and gents This one goes out to all the exiles out there who for one reason or another have chosen a life outside the verdant land of Norfolk and Norwich. Whether or not you live beyond the fair county in which we were either born in or became enamored to by its sheer delights, I'd like to salute all the folks out there who follow the Mighty Canary. I'm going to put my foot on the line by saying in the years in exile that I've had, this has been an absolute cracker. The impartiality of the Norfolk BBC commentators upon Simeon's 90 something winner against our last opponents was one of the moments of the season so far, and I've seen some European commentators go a little bit mental when gooooaaaaaaaaaaaaaaallllllllllllssssssssssssss have been scored. Some of the passion that this team has created in the fans home and away has been nothing short of remarkable. Deep in the heart of all of us is a desire to get our just desserts and on so many occasions this season when I've pulled myself out of bed to get a stream on the boys, I have been absolutely delighted by our skill, teamwork and desire to keep going. My wife has seen me do the silent strobe dance on so many occasions this season that it has woken her up and she has sat with bated breath just to laugh at the joy supporting this team gives me, and us both. Whatever gives over the next 10 days I salute this marvelous team, supporters, manager and all the fans who I see going bonkers, just as I do and would (more so) if I were there. OTBC
Good one 'me ole china!' Having never been exiled (apart from a brief stint living in Sarf Lunnon in the sixties, and three years in comely Bucks), it's great to see so many exiles still supporting the team. Many even get to games from far-flung corners, indeed my daughter, whilst at Uni in Hull (well it SEEMED far-flung), commuted to every home game! Hats off to all of you for supporting in whatever way you can.
Surely the title for this thread was crying out to be 'keep calm and canary on..'?! Okay, I'll take a taxi back to the QPR board now!
china - I totally agree with those sentiments, as an exile of 35 yrs + I would have been completely sunk without the lifeline of ôCanary Playerôand before that, ôCanaries Worldô. Roy Waller started the tradition of bringing Carrow Road into our homes, and Chris Goreham has done his bit to carry it on. Saturdays would never have been the same without them.
Keeping calm China but only because it is not a matchday. I am dreading Monday, just the thought of watching the stream of that game has my stomach in knots! God alone knows what Monday night (Tuesday morning here) is going to be like. Monday past was horrific to say the least! Woke my wife and daughter on 96 minutes Can not bare another 2 games that close
having supported the yellows whilst living in gibraltar, bahrain, saudi arabia, somalia, thailand, philippines and even uk through BBC world service and the late pink un which i had posted to me in all of those places. living back in england now, and able to follow the club more closely is such a delight, even though am unable to get to as many matches as i would like, radio norfolk on canary player is a godsend.
Yes, Monday holds an altogether new prospect Thai...one of my mates here is a Bluebirds fan and he and I have enjoyed the twists and turns of the last few weeks and had a good laugh along the way. If the honest reporting of The Sun is to be believed then East and West will both have representatives in the PL...bloody hell! Enjoy the long w/e and here's to an amazing end to it. Chok Dee!
