BC.......following pasoti match thread....which commented on Sheridan's body language.......no shouting of instructions and hands in pockets.......he wasn't like that a few games back.......has something happened for the man to lose heart and show no desire....has he lost authority in the changing room.......why is Hourihane captain and why is he undroppable......disappointing that first sub was Hayes, and Harvey was given only a few minutes.

Evening all - just back from the match. Obviously a disappointing result but an improved performance (I think) and I reckon we were worth a point.

I hate watching football from behind the goal-especially at such a crap ground, so my version of events may be different from someone who had a better vantage point. First half started brightly enough and was fairly open and entertaining for a derby without there being any real cut goal chances. 0-0 at half time was a fair reflection of the first 45 mins although Exeter were denied what I thought was a nailed on penalty for a Bencherif handball after Branston had blocked a fierce shot.

More of the same at the start of the second half until they scored with a quality goal. Luke Young came on and scored a cracking free kick to level the scores and Reid also looked lively after his introduction. In the 10 mins following the equaliser argyle created 2 or 3 really good chances but couldn't take the lead then exeter scored very much against the run of the play followed by the third in the dying minutes and that was that.

    points/observations.

1.Hayes looked calm and assured for the first 15 mins and it was obviously he could play at a higher level but no surprise he was subbed as he drifted out of the game-suspect he is short of match fitness.
    2. Reid did quite well when he came on and looked like he was trying to prove a point.
3.Alessandra remains appalling (IMHO) and i have no idea why he keeps being picked-LUKE YOUNG must start the next match!
4.Agree about Sheridan's body language- doesn't appear to be much passion or belief.
    5. For some reason we seem unable to attack the empty space in front of us- Exeter did that, and were first to all the second balls which was probably the difference between the teams.
    6. Tyler Harvey came on with 4 mins left-whats the point?

No MOTM for me this week but spare a though for Luke McCormick- Nothing much he could do about the three goals and I dont think he had any other serious attempts on his goal to worry about. However, the Exeter morons booed him throughout and when they weren't booing they were chanting 'murderer'- whilst I guess it was inevitable, it is to his credit that it didnt affect his performance or body language. Whatever anyone thinks about what happened it must take some courage to face that amount of abuse without reacting.

So no points, and an afternoon spent with the great unwashed, plus £6.50 to park at John Lewis (oh and some youth deposited their half digested lunch of beer and pie just a couple of feet in front on me, but fortunately I avoided the splashes!) but I feel oddly more optimistic than I have of late.

    Onwards and upwards.

Been for a walk through the woods since the game finished with Mrs Plym...and thought about the game.

I fail to understand how this team can lose 6 out of 10......on paper thy should be better than that.

I think of Exeter...playing... so the report said without any recognized strikers because of injuries...was that so ?

On paper I wouldn't change many of our team for theirs....yet the BBC say they deserved to win.......and found the net three times......and Gow an Argyle reject played well for them....and scored...plus a superb pass for one of the others goals.

Man of the match on pasoti seems to be Young who played....what... 25mins and scored from a dead ball situation......our first goal for yonks.....Harvey got well voted for and he wasn't on long enough to get his studs muddy !!!.......so why are they not performing ?

Tisdale obviously knows how to get his team to play and are high in the league......and I've already commented that I don't think their players are world beaters.

Sheridan has hit a glass wall and doesn't seem to be able to get the best out of these players.....gives Harvey just a few minutes and hasn't chosen Gurrieri for the bench at all.....yet Hourihane is always present in a non-performing mid-field.....how can that be.....and don't get me started on him being captain.

Has something happened behind the scenes that we are not aware of ?........something happened a few weeks back as they went down the tunnel....was that ever explained ?

The pressure will be mounting on Sheridan to sort it out and quickly.......we are averaging 1pt per match.......last season we struggled against relegation all season......and at the end of the season we had higher than 1pt per match and just survived.

We are probably hoping that there are two really crap teams this season ......if our form at present is anything to go on to help us stay up.

Thanks lyndhurst. Was taken out by daughter and grandson today so missed any possibility of listening. Perhaps being saved that was a blessing. There is no room for any optimism as far as I can see. This has started and is turning out to be a hattrick of crap seasons. Is something wrong? I think that is blatantly obvious to anyone who isn't terminally green tinted. It's going to be a very long hard season,

judging by reactions on other sites I guess I may have been too upbeat in my report. As far as I can see, however technically good the players may be, very few seem to have any affinity with PAFC, hence the lack of desire and fight.

ergo the need to have some locals in the team.

for me, the team needs to be built around

    l mccormck
    wotton
    young
    nelson
    gurrueri
    hourihane
    harvey

    manager- n warnock

they are the few that show any passion or desire to fight for the badge

You say it as you see it lyndhurst which is the same as anyone else. It's all about opinions in the end. ATD as one example is terminally downbeat irrespective of result or anything else. Pasoti generally is the polar opposite of that so to get much of a balanced opinion is a tad difficult. The one stand out though is doubt being expressed at Sheridan. Body language and so on along with rumour of rift. He is the one person no excuses can be made for. It's his team now, he brought most of them in and does the training and tactics etc. All does not seem well in that direction.

    Agreed-- time for Warnock.

If there is a rift it must be halted sooner rather than later.. shame as i thought he would get us going again..

There is also the report that when Wotton went over to clap the fans he was told in no uncertain terms what certain fans thought of their performance .... apparently Wotton was swore at and retorted along the lines of you F***ing see you next Tuesday <doh> ..... don't know if Wotton was genuinely upset at losing or it was the fact that someone had the audacity to have a go at him ..... all this doesn't bode well !

By all accounts the Wotton incident was as much the fault of the fans as it was Wotts. He was the only player that came close on the away fans and applauded us (a few others acknowledged us as they trudged off and the rest just disappeared down the tunnel) some wise guy decided to vent his frustration at Wottsie and not surprisingly he retorted with a few choice words along the lines of 'why are you having a go at me , its that lot you need to have a go at'(with obvious added expletives and pointing at his team mates).

Whilst I won't condone his behavior I would rather have 11 like him who genuinely care (regardless of their ability)than some who just seem to turn up and play without any passion-hence my comment above.

Despite all the problems with Fletcher and last seasons performances , the team pretty much seemed together and actually believed in Argyle. I somehow feel that spirit, passion and connection with the club isn't there with this bunch of players. I can only suggest that this is down to Sheridan (who hasn't seen fit to move his family down here yet) hence my suggestion of Warnock.

I sincerely hope Sheridan can turn it round and stays for years, but time and hope is running out.

Obviously Wotton isn't going to see them as he isn't in the squad (unless hes in the crowd)
