I said we'd play Leicester in the Championship first up so I'm pleased as punch I at least got the last 3 letters right (Exeter ) , for the League Cup. Last season, I struggled to know if we were playing home or away ............. things are looking up, already!!!!!!!!
Games scheduled for the week of August 5th. Well at least we get a test drive on their pitch? Thursday 11th July â Exeter City (a) â 7:30pm
That will be some culture shock to a number of our higher paid mercernaries assuming they are still with us......
Try Topsham, its the southern end of exeter and is the older part of town, I also know the alleyways Topsham are thinner than a VW Passat.....
Did you need a new set of wing mirrors (or wings!!). Only thirteen miles from home so I'm happy! Sooper - Nice beach at Dawlish Warren or Exmouth, water should have warmed up a bit by then!!
I was wondering about Reading & Wigan? I guess we are in the mix to make it an even number of teams for the draw. Explanation off BBC site:- "Relegated QPR have been drawn against League Two side Exeter City in the first round of the Capital One Cup. The winners in the first round, which sees teams from the Championship, League One and Two compete, could then face Premier League opposition. Reading, who were also relegated from the Premier League, enter the competition in round two. Teams that have qualified for Europe - Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham, Wigan and League Cup holders Swansea - all enter the competition in the third round."
Good for you - you get to see the R's twice then? Oh, I do love to be beside the seaside............ As a child we used to spend part of summer in a simple thatched cottage at Hope Cove, which I believe is much more commercialized today. I recall in particular, rock pools of water on the beach, cliff walks, fantastic multi flavour ice cream selections (having been raised on vanilla only), and the "Portugese Men of War" scary jellyfish - good memories, met my first "girlfriend" there!
The good news is that this should be on TV, the bad news is everyone will laugh at us getting beat by Exeter live on TV.
Assuming my youngest son wants to go to the first one, it's his birthday so he has the choice of what we'll be doing, so I'm told!! There are benefits to living down here.........
That's our penalty for finishing bottom. Still, could be worth a visit if I'm down that way in August...
You're spot on, there is no chance Defoe will score a hat trick for us!! He'd rather retire than drop into the championship..........
Not to Serious, Just scratched the whiskers a bit. You always have to give it a go in a company shed. Bloody vandals....
Cureton left Exeter City yesterday, signed for Cheltenham Town, suppose that's one less player to worry about!
