Excuse me for clutching the positives there are But that´s just the way that I´m built, Unbeaten in three now and each week less far To safety as others they wilt Those three at the bottom who did play today All lost, and their worries must grow, And with the Saints winning their Man City fray Their task is no easier now And although we still have no league wins this year Out of six we´ve only lost two, We´re still taking points off those who are us near Which is exactly what we have to do And while those beneath us find wins hard to buy Then even a draw is enough, To keep breathing space to where death is nigh Even if the viewing is tough This was a game we drew too, last term Even playing the ´Lambert´ way, This year at least we did more than stand firm With one more clean sheet on the day And likely as not if we had chanced our arm Both here and in last weekend´s game, The two handy points now both safe and warm We may not have got in the frame For one thing all Premier League sides they can do Is capitalise on mistakes, When foolhardy attacks break down and you rue Not defending their counter breaks So dour and dismal it may still well be But the table it doesn´t lie, And such hard fought points as all these last three Could be what help keep our feet dry. OTBC Have a good week all, Yours
Hi RBF, wise words spoken! All I can say to those among us who have "never seen us play so bad," all I will say is you've only been watching for the last four and a half years! OK I'm much older than many of you, but in my 53 years of watching the team that I love, I've seen some utter dire performances, but my love for NCFC has never, ever wavered, I wouldn't dream of turning my back on them!
Like you Dave I've seen some **** in my time, God knows I've seen some ****. A Wednesday night standing in the pissing rain on the River End terrace watching City lose 1-0 to Orient back in the seventies. I said at the time '**** this for a game of soldiers' but I still paid my money at the turnstile on the Saturday week
Not all games pan out entertaining the game is unpredictable that's why we watch it and will come back for more Hopefully Holt sorts his back in next two weeks and we get to see him and Becchio give it a go against Everyon
I think Hughton in the interview here - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21311397 - tells it exactly as it is. He knows our limitations, but he also knows what the objectives are this season, and he´s also realistic enough to know a good point when he sees one.
