By Paul Warburton Jan 25 2012 CHRIS Samba has refused to take ânoâ for an answer over a £7.5million dream move to QPR before the transfer window slams shut on Tuesday. The giant Blackburn defender, who is also wanted by Spurs, has continued to âpush with all his mightâ, according to a Rovers insider, despite being told by the Premiership strugglers he is going nowhere. And Rangers are primed to lean just as hard themselves to get a vital central defender after the deal for Alex at Chelsea went south earlier in the week. New boss Mark Hughes is still desperate to get a centre back that will help Rs claw their way out of the relegation mire, especially as he has two offers turned down already by his former club for a player he signed for Rovers in 2007. Samba has not played for Blackburn since the 2-1 home defeat by Stoke on January 2 and was allowed to sit out last Saturdayâs 1-1 draw with Everton when Rovers boss Steve Kean deemed the defender was not in the right frame of mind. A source said: âOn a scale of one to 10 on pushing to leave, Chris is an 11. He reckons heâs done all he can for Rovers, and reckons he should be allowed to come to London and reunite with his former manager who made him a Premier League success in the first place." Wonderful! If Samba is forced to stay he could increasingly disaffect players (those that aren't disaffected already). Now its just a question of how much Blackburn think he'll help our relegation fight, and which of the two options is most damaging to their club
Great news Norway! But save the champagne til it's on the Official! In fact until we have a good new CM and striker too!
So Samba and Ferdinand as CBs, Young keeps his place, Onouha and Taiwo in for for Hill/Traore and SWP/Buz Is that how it will work. I can see Sparky is building from the back
This is getting uglier than Ian Dowie, think this will go down to the wire on Tuesday. However if Onuoha signs as now seems likely i wouldn't be sure we will get him!
Said it on another thread, this is going to happen. We'll just have to wait until the last day so that Blackburn and Steve Kean can save some face
Not sure which way this is going to go tbh. Would be madness for Blackburn to help strengthen a main relegation rival. However, they are in desperate straits with the bank and that, added to the unsettling influence of Samba staying may just be enough to swing it!! Would be a fantastic signing imo.
He's still 10/1 on Sky Bet so if any of you fancy this one to go through there is serious value for money there. It won't be long until they slash it, stay tuned.
Agree, but the thing is they have done well in their last two games without him and the Venky's appear to be a little like the Goons, greedy and short sighted, they will surely see this as easy money. Fingers crossed.
Said from the time we were first linked with him that we will sign him on the last day of the transfer window. Blackburn will sell him, but they're just trying to hold out for as much money as they can get.
If it all came off, which is a big ''if'' of course, I'd like to see Young Samba Onouha Taiwo as the back four. Then when Traore is back, we can put either him or Taiwo at left midfield (I know, I know, a left winger who's left footed - crazy) and put SWP on the right where he belongs. All sounds too good to be true!
can see the headlines now Next Wednesday. Arry cell 1, JT cell 2, Samba sign at 16.59, and Tevez comes in on loan. Samba signing would be brill......but what are the odds on the others happening.........
Tuesday scenario: 4.00pm Arry gets six months for tax evasion, Rosie is put down for aiding and abetting... 11.59pm Samba signs for the Rs for £10 million to save Blackburn's skin with Barclays...
If it were one of our players my thoughts would be get him out relelgation rivals or not. I don't want a player at the Rs who doesn't want to be there, and i'm sure Rover's fans are the same. Get good money for him and try and get an adequate replacement.
Renault..sob sob sob...please tell thats all wrong? Can't they add "JT confessed to be a human being of honesty and integraty (I was laughing as I typed this so can imagine the courts laughing as well", impersonating a donkey as per peformances against Arsenal?
