Shaun Derry admits QPR will have to move from their Loftus Road base to progress as a club. Owner Tony Fernandes revealed on Monday that the club are looking at alternative venues for the team, capable of holding up to 45,000 fans. Loftus Road's capacity is just 18,500 - the smallest ground in the Premier League - and, while he admits he would be sad to leave the west London stadium, Rangers midfielder Derry is adamant the club must move onwards and upwards. âIâm 100% for moving,â Derry told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast. âLoftus Road is a fantastic ground to play at, it really is. Those that have played there know about the atmosphere, the fans are really on top of you and give you the support that you need. But to progress as a football club I think we have to find another venue.â TalkSport
I cringe when i listen to Alan Brazil and Co interview people. They sound like they haven't got a clue what they are saying, and they seem to 'stutter' about what to say next. It really is 'Bargin basement' interviewing. I'm glad i don't waste my time on that station now. Anyway back on topic! Agree with Brixton, i cannot see this happening any time soon. Next thing to come will be plans and site and a few years down the road we may get a new new stadium, which by the way we need.
