.....Absolutely no doubt. But you have to ask : What was going on for police to be called in the first place ? What sort of man breaks a women's nose ? Would these men caused trouble if they had known the police would have reacted so forcibly ? In my youth the Police were respected, now they're seen as fair game for some. However wrong, it was bloody terrible, that kick was sometimes you get more than you bargain for.
RP My thoughts exactly but it possibly stems back to lack of discipline at school and in the home to behave like that ? Like lot of ‘selfish and questionable attitudes’’ these days, and there’s little or no respect for the Police or for other members of society in general anyway. The decline in behaviour is getting worse by the year. The emergency services of all types often face a torrent of abuse and physical violence when just trying to do their already (at times) very difficult job. Even Andy Burnham is being cautious in what he says at the moment and that speaks volumes. Yet straight away we have a human rights lawyer involved. citing Police brutality, as brain injury, and presumably they are after a mega pay day for his client ? I don’t blame the copper for using excessive force from what I know, given 3 of his colleagues had already been punched to the ground, and the female officer had her nose broken as well. I hope it’s found his actions were partially justified because of the threat being posed, because if not, it’s another green light for yet more anti social behaviour everywhere, and it’s already pretty bad almost everywhere already !! You only have to look at the carnage that unfolded in Leeds last week. It was just an excuse to cause utter mayhem, and I’m assuming it was by people with nothing better to do, becausr the different ethnicities involved won’t surely have all supported a Gypsy family to that degree ? Were constantly told that Police morale is at an all time low and officers are leaving in droves. Some of that can be explained by the top brass who told the Coppers to do nothing in London and elsewhere while vile individuals swarmed all over war memorials chanting terrorist threats and putting up Palestinian flags. Never in my lifetime did the thin blue line look this thin right now ! Seems like we’re on the verge of anarchy
Totally agree with Andy Burnham. The bit we saw was slam dunk over reaction, but apparently the guy had punched the police woman and broke her nose just before, so the whole thing needs to be reviewed, that said by the time the kick and stamp took place the guy was led prone with his hands behind his back.
Again I agree It’s all very unsavoury all round But I’d like to think the person on the ground deserved it Having said that the officer may have lost control of his emotions (and who can blame him) having the person on the floor and in cuffs I hope he’s got as good a lawyer as the offender and we’ll call it a draw Maybe they’ll both think twice next time
If, as is reported the guy broke the female officers nose he’s likely to be done for assault or something similar, unless he’s very lucky the copper may get the same.
There was a worry that because they were armed police and their weapons were targetted it could develop beyond safety and it was in an airport! whilst I think it was not the right thing to do but given the ferocity of the attack on the first officers on the scene there was noo thinking time and a show off force had to made. To be fair Most people I have conversed with over this affair are pretty much of the opinions expressed on here. All seem to be fed up with the crimes taking place today that involve attacks on police.... consensus being it should be a criminal offence to attack/assualt a police officer... no mitigating circumstances including drunk or drug related. should be a minimum sentence of serving at least 12 months in jail [ so sentence is 2 years plus...... ]
It should be a criminal offence to attack or assault any member of the Police, the emergency services or the armed forces and it should automatically carry a jail sentence
(29) New Manchester Airport video shows chaotic scene before man 'kicked' in head by police officer - YouTube I do not see any excessive force used by the police.
Wonder what the Lambo lawyer has to say now. Our police are not perfect but my Lord, what do they have to put up with.
The family of the guilty party are now expressing concern for the hurt Police officers and their well being Whether it’s genuine or they’ve been told it will help their case remains to be seen I hope the correct verdict (for once) is reached and the officer is reinstated and the guilty face the full force of the law
I hope all the police involved get commendations for confronting extreme violence. The ladies especially should be awarded medals for showing incredible bravery facing up to these thugs. Those troublemakers are the lowest....scum and should be given extended sentences.
