http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...l-health-of-the-Premier-League-laid-bare.html We look very healthy, though it's worth noting our income will presumably drop this accounting year due to no CL. The figures in the table relate to 2010/11. The 'click on' feature provides lots of extra info on each club's finances. While the 'sort by' feature is a real bonus in working out performance/income related positions and the like. Sort by income and our 5th place finish was exactly the same as income status. Though in reality Man City should be above us, so we actually overachieved by one place. Sort by wage and again we overachieved by one place.
Bloody Hell, Blackpool's wage budget is roughly what Yaya Toure earns isn't it? Fairplay for nearly staying up and getting straight back to the playoff finals.
The cash flow is most interesting: City are hemorrhaging £178.8m(!), The Chavs £72m, Loserpool £42.5m, and Villa £28.7m - Villa are the only club to try and reduce their wage bill and outgoings and it nearly saw them joining the other austerity case Leeds in doing so, and Liverpool could start to slip bit by bit. Frankly, it's about time financial reality caught up with Chelsea - their debts were far greater than Leeds', yet whilst Leeds tried to pay down the debt with player sales, Chelsea never bothered and were only let off the hook when Roman arrived. If they fail to reach the CL next season, that could be the first step on Fulham being the top club in West London, and QPR being the second...
It's some achievement isn't it. Just hope they beat West Ham, whose wages are way higher than Blackpool's.
I guess that's mainly due to the famous 'leveraged buy out' that so annoyed many Utd fans, and with reason.
Not sure I trust all of these figures, to be honest. They have our 09/10 transfers down as a £27.5m loss, when it was actually a slight profit, if anything.
Every single team in huge (relative term) amounts of debt except Wolves and Blackpool, who were relegated.
How the hell do Fulham have £200m of debt?!? Only ManU are worse, and the reason for their debt is well known.
That can't be right surely! they dont have anything to show for it, at least Bolton and Arsenal have shiney new stadiums. Ours is already quite bad, is that due to the land aquisition for the NLD?
Well Al Fayed has invested stacks to get them to where they are - presumably it's in the form of loans rather than gifts or equity. May well be wrong. What Fulham have to show for it is a long period of Prem football, and a European final. The latter being something we haven't managed for 28 years now.
