http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-38093421 Apparently one of our ex youth players has come forward to claim he was also a victim of a nonce's abuse back in the pre 2000 era. The nonce has been behind bars since 2002 thankfully but the UK probe seems to be reaching far and wide now. This is a VERY good thing IMHO as football coaches have a position of trust and confidence with young players. I hope that EVERY single one of them is found, exposed and convicted ASAP and that the truth is hung out there for all to see as a deterrent to these sick ****s in the future.
We are too soft on these sick bastards in this country. They are a menace/ danger to society and should be eliminated when convicted.
All very sickening. Typical of these ****ers to prey on young lads who wanted something badly. The problem is none of these guys reform. So what do you do? Lock them up and create a financial burden on the country. I'm not a fan of death penalties or any kind of inhumane killing but these people do not reform and just end up ruining another life as well as those connected.

Bringing in a law here that includes chemical castration for people convicted of child sex offences. Probably a bit extreme for UK but something needs doing to stop them repeat offending. Cannot imagine the anguish the parents must feel knowing that they havent protected their children from this abuse.
This is the thing, the parents blame themselves. In reality all they wanted was an opportunity for their kids like any parent would. Ok alarm bells would ring for me with house stays, but easily trips away you'd want them to have that chance.
The human rights 'oh we can rehabilitate them' brigade are the reason why these sick ****s get away with this stuff. It's bloody awful.
I thought that the Saville abuse and all of the subsequent vile peado's and rapists that it uncovered was huge...................... but it really does seem to be the tip of the iceberg. Its absolutely shocking that something so disgusting and poisonous and devastating is so prevalent in society. It really is time that these unhuman pieces of **** were treated to a bit of rough justice rather than a slap on the wrist and having to sign a register for a few years. We have a young man at work that was abused as a child, and I can tell you, its completely ****ed his head up. I doubt that he will ever come to terms with it all......................... in fact I fully expect him to 'end it' at some point. Poor ****er!!!
I dont think its possible to re-habilitate these weirdos. somewhere along the line their wiring got seriously fkd up. its not like just finding yourself on the wrong side of the tracks.
I'm sure I have read that a lot of abusers were abused themselves as kids (and ****ed up by it obviously), making them think in some way that that behaviour is normal. Some are just twisted ****s though and don't care about what hurt they do to other people, seeing kids as 'fair game'. It's very positive that victims feel like they can come forward in this day and age whereas up until very recently they didn't. The most important thing in these situations in my opinion is to be able to get the victims the support they need so they don't have their minds ****ed up and maybe even become part of the abuse cycle themselves.
That's the only thing that makes me hesitant abut death penalties. Perhaps its something we can eradicate over time by exposure.
The only argument in favour of the death penalty is that it is cheaper. Won't deter anyone. Never has. Saving money isn't enough of a justification for me.
Not really. The other thing in its favour massively is that they don't get to reoffend. I don't think it's about a deterrent with these people, it makes no odds. They just commit the same offences over and over. I'm against the death penalty. I just struggle to see how else to solve the problem.
In the context of the football scandal, the issue isn't so much re-offending as it is not having these people on the radar in the first place. You would hope that these days that any known offenders were never allowed to be in a position of trust again - not just with kids but with any vulnerable people. The real problem is in spotting the dangers before any offences are committed, and I'm not sure how you go about doing that. Like you said (I think) earlier in the thread, there should be certain red flags like overnight stays in homes etc, which should be banned immediately - even if those are innocent the majority of the time. I think there should always be at least two responsible adults at all times at any times where kids are being supervised, to reduce any opportunity for these sort of offences to be carried out in the first place.
One simple solution for these guys, cut their balls off. They are pure vermin and scum and make me cringe big time.
