It seems that pompy have until 10th August to sort out the players wages or close. There are seven senior players who need to reach compromise agreement (for those who don't know what these are, they are legal agreements to terminate their current contracts for a lump sum payment while giving up rights to take a legal claim against your employer), of agree to be transfered.

Of the seven players involve three are ex sunderlamd players. The article aysthat they are making progress with 3 or 4 of the seven but agents are holding out for more for the others.

What do others think should happen should the players take deals to save the club or should they stick out to get what their contracts say they should be paid?

I asked which were the players on a different post mate so thanks for the info. None are skint so I would say help the club out. It could end up that they get nowt so unless another club comes for them then I think they'll stay put and take the club down. Sad I now but money is all they are after nowadays.

Surely a few of those players could get clubs in the champ or div 1? Must be on daft money. Another reason why we should be glad to have a wage cap.
