Obafemi "forever young" Martins (who's still 28 ), or Jose Enrique, who was better for the club?

Oba made 88 appearances and scored 28 goals. Famed for his outrageous pace, nice bits of skills, thumping hundred mile-an-hour blasts into the top corner, and flips... Lots and lots of flips! For all the good things, sometimes he was lazy, and for every blasts he'd score from nothing, he'd miss a sitter.

Jose made 119 appearances for us and scored 1 goal. The man brought in under Fat Sam struggled early on, but his pace, skill, passing and tackling cemented his place as crowd favourite until his departure. Later on he added crossing and occasional shooting to his repertoire. Sometimes he was still a bit wasteful in attacking positions, and the crazy passing between him, Jonas and Colo in that corner caused a sharp increase in coronary problems in the North East during his time at the club.

Going with Oba. I think he tried to carry the striking load when you've Micky and Viduka as your strikers...............JFK as your manager......



Did well for us, it's a shame we had to sell him when we went donw

 

love Jose, he stuck by us when times were tough and became a better player for it... then went to Liverpool.

Jose all day long, love the bloke. Stuck around in bad times and always gave 100%. Martins - Not a fan. In it for himself, lazy and vastly overrated. Capable of thunderous strikes but took the phrase "strikers should be greedy" past the point of being funny.

 

Jose adds another dimension to things though as he can play in goal too
