Would you have any of them back. Sam Ricketts (Bolton) Aaron Wilbraham (Norwich) Jon Walters (Stoke) Frazier Campbell (Sunderland) Michael Turner (Sunderland) Keith Andrews (wba) Stephen Hunt (Wolves) Steven Moyoukola (Wolves) Bo Myhill (WBA)
You could say the same about Jon Walters though. Maybe they just didn't fit into our style of play, I don't know, but they've progressed hugely since leaving us. I do wonder though if Andrews would still be stuck in League One/Championship if Ince hadn't brought him to Blackburn with him from MK Dons.
When Walters first came to us on loan, he looked a class apart from anyone else on the pitch. Not sure what went wrong when we got him on a permanent, but I'm pleased he managed to rebuild his career and fulfil his potential.
Same as the rest though, eh? Maybe we shouldn't make loans permanent barring Evans, Stewart and Mannone come to think of it (Kinda destroyed my own point already) McShane, Zayatte, and others' that I'm too tired to think of were brilliant on loan and far poorer when made permanent. Maybe they just fought harder to win a contract, maybe they just had a huge drop in form, who knows?
I liked Walters, despite his scoring record being poor while he was with us, he always looked good to me. I didn't rate Andrews, I think he looked better after he left us, same goes for Vaz Te, who looks a completely different player to the one we had on loan.
Yeah I think his kid was born with their intestines on the outside - I think that would effect anyone from doing their job to their full ability I remember when he left he did thank the club for sticking by him and all the support they gave during his hard time
I'm stunned nobody has mentioned Campbell. He is somehow held up as having 'messed us around' and as result is almost loathed by some fans but that was a story entirely cultivated by the club management at that time for the HDM. FC said all along to Radio Humberside that he didnt want to come here at that time and even when the HDM reported him being 'nailed on close to signing', credit to RH they continued to report that their sources said he wouldnt sign. In short - he didnt mess us around, get over it and if we signed him we'd be almost certain of promotion.
Nonsense, it was Fraizer Campbell's Dad(and agent) that was telling the Fail that it was a done deal, not the club. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_5408987,00.html Though I agree that our chances of promotion would improve dramatically if he did come back.
So how come throughout RH had the right story and refused to swallow what the club said? They spoke to FC direct and got the constant message throughout that he wouldnt be coming and we all know the reason why he wouldnt be coming. It was a very different story (funnily enough) from this very reason.
