Is it just me or is anyone else suffering form post-606 writing trauma?

With my new found license to swear my head off on not-606 i cannot seem to get out of the habit of writing 'nice' i think it is a hang-over from several years of tip-toeing through the moderators of the bbc.

I feel like the guy in A Clockwork Orange. I have been conditioned by the beeb. I've been Flipping Ned Flandersised (see what i mean).

I swore like a trooper the first few days but after they introduced the 'swear filter' I thought. Why am I writing articles that are composed of ***** and very little else.

I then thought I was behaving badly and had to stop.

I'm a Dad for Christs sake.

Sure my daughter can't read but there are other peoples daughters out there who can read (Sunderland not included) and they may have daughters who will read who will have reading daughters and all they'll see from the future is a civilisation that used a series of **** interspersed with occasional non-'*' characters and think that's the way we converesed.

I'm thinking of our reputation in the future.

I know what you mean. It's like walking on eggshells on BBC 606. I once received a warning email after threatening to kick my own TV screen in if ever I saw Adrian Durham on it. It's taking a while to get used to the sheer nastiness of this board.

Adrian Durham! If ever our paths meet do not expect to walk away without a stream of expletives making your ears buzz!

I'm afraid that's all I can muster at the moment.

But just think about the kind of job she'll be able to get in the future when you send her out to work so that she can keep you in the style you'd like to become accustomed to, if you stop her education.

I have two dreams about my daughter

    1) She's on a podium saying "I'd like to thank the Nobel Academy"

    2) "Do you want fries with that" but she does at least have 3 stars.

Thinking about it, the rules on 606 meant the insults and jokes had to be a lot more clever to get around the mods, now some of it is just pure hate/swearing at other members.

    Interesting thread <ok>

I think most BBC 606 users felt like it was like lifting the lid on a boiling pan of water finally being able to swear on not606. But like others, I've quickly found that the novelty has worn off and reading back some of my early comments, I sound like a 10 year old twat <laugh>

Also agree with Smudger - BBC restrictions actually forced posters to be creative with their insults. Some of the most hilarious wummery was also some of the most subtle <ok>

true a while back i found myself lowering to a wums level and biting i think i set the not 606 record for swearing on one post,a couple of days later i re-read it and cringed still do the odd swear word but the feeling of being a kid again and hearing your first bad swear word has worn off.i think most if they look at their first couple of posts on here were swearing for England but have now got it out of their systems. not606 sort of had a release from the shackles of 606 mods feeling about it at first.

It seems that the mods are having a tough time on here.

MackemsRule has quit as mod of the Sunderland board

Sidthemackem would make a good mod. That's the one with the 'i' not the guy that's already a mod with the 'y'.
