The Chairboys are off to Ewood Park for their first ever game against the 1995 Premier League Champions and will be looking for a big improvement in front of goal after missing several chances in Championship Matchday One. There are a few links between the teams one being Blackburn is Gareth Ainsworth's birthplace the second that Simon Garner played the bulk of his career at the two clubs making 474 for the Lancashire side and 66 for us. Gaz will be hoping to have Uche Ikpeazu available to make his debut also Ryan Tafazolli is chomping at the bit for some game time Dom Gape is suspended and the Beast will not be back until next month. Get your IFollow pass and be ready from 2pm to watch the Chairboys continue to make history in our Championship adventure
This could be a baptism of fire for us. Blackburn went head to head with Bournemouth on Saturday and only lost out to a spectacular goal 6 mins from the end. I think our defence will need to be on top form and Allsop will may need to earn the MOM. If we can get a draw here it will be a massive boost. As with most matches this season, I will be fearing the worst and hoping for the best. You never know with our lads
Who would you drop? Kashket ran the Rotherham defence ragged before tiring in the 2nd half, you cant drop Fred he's by far out best player up front. We've also got Uche Ikpeazu fit again so it's a tough decision to make.
Why did he not play last week? He is a constant threat and his non stop harrying is going to be essential at this level. His attitude, energy and persistency are a major plus, matched only by Blooms who, I must admit, has pleasantly surprised me at this level. Blend this with some players with class, powerful defence and striker(s) and we could surprise a few teams
Kashkett did do well Saturday but I can't see him being good enough in this league. I would choose Samuel over him every week. Kashkett is also likely to pick up cards. I don't like his attitude much to be honest.
Not as a goalscorer he's not. What's wrong with his attitude Ron he gives his all to the team and gets kicked to f*ck while doing it as we saw last week?
I would guess Samuel for Kashkett, although I think Kashkett is the better finisher. We seem short in midfield with Gape out and Thompson injured? So Wheeler will probably start there again. Defence the same.
Yes but I was half expecting him to get sent off before 90 mins. Also, we were playing a L1 side last week. He will find it tougher against proper Championship sides. Just my opinion
Dominic Gape misses out through suspension and the game comes too soon for Adebayo Akinfenwa as he continues his rehab from a knee operation in the summer, but Curtis Thompson and Uche Ikpeazu could feature after knocks.
Allsop, Grimmer, Jacobson, Stewart, Wheeler, Pattison, Bloomfield (c), Kashket, Horgan, Charles, Onyedinma. Subs: Stockdale, Tafazolli, Phillips, Freeman, Samuel, McCarthy, Parker This was last weeks starting line up I think Kashket and Pattison may drop to the bench with Thompson and Samuel or Ikpeazu starting
TEAM NEWS: #Chairboys unchanged. Allsop, Grimmer, Jacobson, Stewart, Charles, Bloomfield, Pattison, Horgan, Kashket, Wheeler, Onyedinma. Subs: Stockdale, Tafazolli, Ikpeazu, Freeman, Samuel, McCarthy, Parker.
Obviously, Gareth wants to sus out the opposition before deciding when to make his subs. I suspect there will be some subs before the usual hour mark. No idea what Tafazolli is like. Anyone seen him in action?
