In a world where things are ideal Well then we´d not need players now, Where prices go up a good deal For many whose value is low, So Ewan, our spotter of men Is doing his damnedest to find, In market places, where open Good players who´re of the right kind, For sitting firmly with the key At Canary Bank taking stock, Is chief goblin McNally D Viewing any vault that´s unlocked, For managing Canary gold Is vital as we look to build, Our assets with those bought and sold So we keep the Bank nicely filled, And though in these prosperous times The coffers are jangling well, We can´t risk ending up wÃth dimes If the Dark Lord should cast his spell, So far our magic has been strong Enough to withstand his dark force, And I feel before very long More magic will keep us on course, And should, by some freak wizardry A deal be struck in the next week, For one or more at the right fee Then his prospects might be quite bleak, But not all that glitters is gold And sometimes rough diamonds are best, Which is why the Spotter´s been told To search north, south, east and out west, So I´m sure if a deal be done With such capable folk on hand, Whether just mortal or one to stun Every last detail will be planned. Hi RBF, I wonder at your ability to always, always smack the nail soundly on the head! A little patience then see what unfolds!
Hi RBF bor, not a bit happy with our management, we should have lined up from Jan 1st who we were interested in and made offers then; not wait until the last minute and see ourselves gazumped! It has been evident for some time we are a bit light in the goalscoring department. Unfortunately strikers are not ten-a-penny and worth their weight in gold. Well not Holty, couldn't afford to pay his "weight" in gold LOL. Regards to the King of Alsace.
Evening NORKIE, might easily have been gazumped even if we had had our shopping list ready on Jan 1st, prices always get screwed up in this window, still, certainly haven´t given up hope yet.
I disagree with that Norkie, I have no doubt we were fully prepared going into this window, but really very few clubs have signed anyone, with the exceptions of QPR, Newcastle and West Ham, who all have a lot more money than us. The club will have gone about this in a professional manner, identified targets, and are doing what's necessary to augment the squad on the budget we have. If it gets to February and we've had no changes, then I think it's fair to be concerned, but right now the transfer window is only really just starting to heat up. Last year, Ryan Bennett was the last transfer in the English League system, so I've no doubt the club will be working to midnight and beyond on January 31st to bring in who we can.
