Rediculous as it may at first sound, we must try and win as many games as we can that we have left this season. Now that we are destined to be either extinct ,if we do not come out of Administration before the season ends, however, if we do and the PST take control as planned, then, we would be subject to a 10 point deduction. Since at present we would be relegated anyway, we would then start in League 2 on -10 points. So, there we have it me must try to avoid the drop spots in League 1 and allow the 10 point deduction to relegate us this season, thus enabling us to start on a level playing field next season on zero points rather than -10 points. Play up Pompey and lets keep fighting for those points!
Spot on. We need to "stay up" in order to start in league Two on zero points. Try this: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/eng_div_2/predictor/default.stm I keep going over and over and we either just stay up or just go down. I think the best we can realisically hope for is a win at home to Stevenage, a draw at Brentford and at home to Sheffield Utd then win at Shrewsbury. Also Oldham and Scunthorpe need to keep losing!
If you do manage to finish out of the bottom 4 that will represent a fantastic effort from Whittingham and his team as you were dead and buried a few weeks ago. It's no accident that your upturn in form has coincided with David Connolly being fit and having a run in the side, he is a class act and could still play at a higher level I believe, you better hope he stays fit in the run in.
He's certainly helped Saintsalive - I also think to be fair that in the last 8 weeks since the window shut we have had for the first time a fairly settled squad that GW & AA have got to really work with without having to chop and change all the time - it's allowed him to prove he's a half decent Manager as our results against some decent L1 sides have been good - if by a miracle we stayed up before the deduction I truly believe he'd be Manager of the season.
