Last month Martin Bain was successful in getting £480,000 ring-fenced by the judge. Now former Director Donald McIntyre has launched a bid to have a further £300,000 ring-fenced. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/scot_prem/default.stm It's no wonder former Chairman Alistair Johnston warned Rangers fans to be vigilant. If McIntyre is successful in getting the money ring-fenced it would provide further evidence that the situation at Rangers is perhaps even more dire than what's being let on. After all, why would a judge be convinced by an ex-employee rather than the current Chairman when it comes to the financial future of Rangers Football Club? Why is it when Craig Whyte says he's confident they'll win the case against HMRC the judge in the Bain case thought it necessary to ring-fence money for an ex-employee? Worrying times.
Aye but rangers fans will say that he is just trying to deflect from the anger at the Celtic board. <rangerstotallyfuckedsmiley>
It's about Rangers though. As a moderator, you should be encouraging posters to follow your lead, starting by posting articles on the correct board. You should be sacked, ****ybaws.
The truth is it's a shared interest story. The future of Rangers FC is at stake and it would be incredibly naive to think that this doesn't affect Celtic. So Dev's right, it's no Medro-style WUM. I just find it interesting that the judge would make such a decision to ring-fence money when Craig Whyte and his lawyer's told him they had every confidence they would win their battle with HMRC. Clearly the judge didn't agree or he wouldn't have found in favour of Martin Bain on that issue. Therefore, there is doubt over Ranger's chances of winning the case in the eyes of the law.
I agree Stereo with all you say re the law and te odds Rangers will lose the tax case. Trevor thinks it is the Scottish Football Authorities who rule on these tax matters. That is why he is so confident. Of course, Stereo you have every right to post about Rangers or any other club in the SPL. Last season every day Rangers fans posted obnoxious posts about Neil Lennon on Celtic forum as well as their own.
