After looking at our collective grumbling about the manager, the squad, transfers in and out I decided to see how the rivals were doing so nipped in to take a look at their Boards.

Dear God the Samaritans would have a field day with us all lol. Don't think I've ever seen a season where All the fans of the"big teams" have came in after the window as sceptical about their teams chances!

The only exception might be City fans but finding them seems to be difficult.....

It could be worse... We're about to see England's Boring football with Hodgson, just think we could have him in charge still and fighting Everton for a place in top half of the table.

We should be happy. No matter how **** we are all of the usual top 6-7 suspects are either as **** or even ****ter.
Apart from City, but they always get bored at some point in the season and throw a few games.

So do you think we will all get up to running speed or do you think it'll be a tough grind for us all this season..

I'm expecting Chelsea to sort themselves out at some stage, though giving City an 8 point start has set them a task. Arsenal will be their usual selves and probably end up in their usual place.
I just don't know about us- I wish I did. More often than not it takes time for a team with a lot of changes to settle, so we could go either way. It might be just too many changes, or they might start to click.
However, that's what makes the whole thing fascinating to me, despite the frustration and temporary depression following a dismal performance like the last one.

I wasn't too bothered about us signing someone as I just thought Rodgers won't do it but then to kick me in the nuts he pretty much sells Illori.

    Sums it up.

Expected nothing from us in the last week, unless it was to sell Balo, Borini or Enrique (2 out of 3 at least). Getting rid of Ilori was not on the agenda and I think is a mistake, left with Calamity Toure as backup.

It's so frustrating that we actually signed some good players this Summer but were still left with this hole at the back, we simply don't have a communicator between our centre backs and that is what will continue to be our problem.

I wouldn't be surprised if we end up with one of or even both of Can and Gomez in there by the end of the season. Rodgers will panic at some point.

We have Toure a new one year deal in summer so he was never leaving unless we got a random offer for him.

I thoight Enrique was off to WBA what happened there....

Clearly not going to be used a CB, BR doesn't seem to like CB's under 24
    Who? The mythical defender.

Obviously Toure wasn't going to leave in this last, the contract and all, he should have been let go in the summer and Ilori taken the 4th CB place.

Good, that's his natural position, not left back so if e works his way into middle I'll be happy.

By by all accounts from chsrlton youth teams etc, he's a leader and communicator, obviously different doing it in senior team though especially for someone so young.

Takes balls to to come on and try organise and bollock a 30 year old international captain in Skrtel so remains to be seen if he can do that.

I think that's why it's good playing young CB's at FB if they can do it, gets them into the team and gives them confidence, and then when move into middle they're already an established player and trying to organise may be easier.

Didn't mind Toure being kept as an experienced option but I'd rather have ilori. Only thing is, wil ilori gain much from playing 10 cup games a season with us, or hopefully 25+ games with some in prem with villa? Only issue is the buy clause if it is in there...

I'd have been happier if we'd got another LB in but was never happening with Enrique still here.

Problem is that we're still weak at CB and DM.

The bigger problem is that this has been a problem since Rodgers first arrived.
