Everyone thinks they can beat us :-D

I'm not usually one for browsing other clubs' boards, but somehow the mood struck me recently. It's fascinating.

Southampton fans are talking about beating us, forgetting that we just went to their ground with a 75% team and drew 1-1 against the fourth best (statistically) team in the country.

Palace ditto - hilariously hoping we beat Southampton so that they can get us in R4 - bizarre logic, that.

Derby - many of their fans seem to think this will be easy despite the fact that we're above them and, with the evidence provided by one of their own, we are top of the table if the league consisted of only the present top 6!

I'm not complaining, mind you, but it's fascinating to read.

 

You surely cant be looking at their pages on here as there is no fooker posting on either! They are both Tumbleweed!

 

Saintsweb, Holmesdale and something Derby - all indie ones.

 

To be fair the Saints board on here is pretty balanced in its thoughts on us! They aren't taking us lightly!

A derby supporting colleague is adamant we will thump them this weekend... so much so he isn't going to watch.

Apparently they are are a bit shaky in defence and wasteful upfront The only concern I have is that the middle of the park they have some talent and pace..

Also, on Bent.. He will have to be played out wide unless they drop Chris Martin... which they wont

 

I just hope that Tommy sticks one on him early doors as a 'Welcome back to Portman Road' gesture!

 

I would expect Bent to be on the bench... They're not likely to drop 16 goal Chris Martin for this match. It will be interesting to see the inevitable wrestling between him and Berra & Smith, who are possibly the best centre backs in the league to deal with him

If they play Bent in a wide position then I wouldn't imagine he'd be much of a threat to either full back

 

If other teams fans think they will beat us then that's fine with me, lets face it we are the ones with nothing to lose when we play a Prem team in the Cup, Southampton had 2 players facing us whose combined value in transfer fees was £19M, according to the TV anyway, so are we the team with anything to worry about? I don't think so. As for Derby which really is important, we haven't got long to wait to find out.
