Haven't flown from there for about two years ,it really needs investment ,I thought Cardiff Council or the Assembly had bought it to do just that as long as it's not to the detriment to the rest of Wales.
Rarely if ever have I been able to get a flight from there for a holiday or even a short trip. Last time was Edinbugh a few years back but I think maybe even that service has gone now. I'll happily fly from there if the likes of Squeezy Jet get in there. At the moment Bristol is the only option, and when I've flown to Egypt it's always bloody Gatwick, or sometimes Manchester. Bristol is well run and is close to Cardiff -that's the problem. It needs substantial investment and something that will attract carriers away from it's English neighbour.
Its frustrating though 40 minute opposed to 90 minute drive and flying in most part to the same destinations .
I have never had any problems with cardiff airport whatsoever. I arrive an hour before take off and have a coffee after checking in and board my plane and we take off to our destination....what more do you want? It's the closeness that im happy with and serves the same purpose as any other airport.
We also have an upmarket spot in New York, http://www.swansea.gov.uk/index.cfm?articleid=55661 But there is one problem with airport, no direct buses for us here in Swansea lol

mat f**k off you plonka...grow up and stop acting like a 9 year old..[/QUOTE] Why tell me as you so eloquently put it to ,of course it matters where you want to fly to , and yes you're not a happy man so why the abuse ?
He abuses people Lurky because he's a walking talking gibbering fart and he couldn't outwit a ****ing orange
The only way you can be satisfied with Cardiff airport is if you travel rarely or if they happen to fly to the very limited destinations you want. Bristol offers a much wider range. Thomson do package deals from Cardiff, though that's under review I've been told. I go to Magalluf every year with the lads and we always have to fly from Bristol. Whenever I see a Cardiff option that is available (rarely) it's always much more expensive. No wonder they are struggling.
