Just happened to stumble on this opinion piece on The Mirrors website: http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/opinion/columnists/david-anderson/Are-things-at-Everton-really-as-bad-as-the-Blue-Union-are-making-out-article798043.html?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter

I sat up and took notice when I read the line "If Evertonians think their club is in a mess then they should try supporting Newcastle, Blackburn or West Ham."

Now Blackburn and West Ham, understandable. But what makes these stupid Journo's put us in a worse boat than Everton?

Even with the losses of Enrique and Barton, we made alot more progress transfer wise than Everton did, take in the fact that they sold they're creative outlet in Arteta and injuries have taken its toll criplling their squad to only 14 senior players till January, would anyone disagree that we have a great chance of finishing above them this season and can shove this tosh down the journos neck.

    That's a bit drastic considering we're a stable club.

you seem to be forgetting that we didn't sign a striker after someone said we would...

so naturally we're due to be relegated and doomed to oblivion. lazy journos trying to create a storm in a tea cup up here as per usual.

I thought we were still in the Championship and docked points for going into administration? I was looking up League One stadium guides.

I think the fact we have the largest fanbase of a 'non-successful' club makes us the most obvious target for this kind of ****e, it's guaranteed to have the most impact afterall, there's no such thing as bad publicity.

Well considering he's given no justification to his remark probably just because we 'didn't spend the Andy Carroll money on players like Mike Ashley said we would'
we're therefore (once again) a club in turmoil! wahh wahh wahh!

Must be very frustrating, ironically, if our fans believe we've got it tough- we could well be Everton! Even though they seem do well considering their lack of transfer activity each season, it's the same old ' just outside the top 6' where they'll never be able to try and push for 5/6th place without further investment or investors which doesn't look like it's happening any time soon...

I'd rather be a Newcastle fan than an Everton fan.

Without the loyalty of Moyes, Everton would be completely effed by now!

To be fair I think they're more alluding to our bungling owner/chairman and the constant PR gaffs, general bad feeling and lack of relationship between board and fans. Everton for all their problems seem to just be suffering from a lack of investment. Their owners just can't afford to invest any more money, our owner chooses not to as Derek alluded to in the recent Q&A. It has been a seriously tough time being a Newcastle supporter while these guys have been in charge. We've seen our club dragged through the gutter. At least at Everton they haven't been heaping embarrassment on their club.

  16. They've spent basically nowt, but they have an excellent manager that's kept them in the league and got them in the top 10. It's not difficult supporting Everton.

    Exactly this.

Would you rather have Ashley or Venky's?

    Now there is a question!

Some say they would rather be in Everton's position because of how their owners run the club as opposed to ours. Yes, their owners are more open and honest with the fans which makes for a more cooperative and understanding relationship. But I think people lose sight of how good a manager Moyes is and how lucky Everton and their board are to have considering he's stuck with them despite receiving no transfer funds for 2 years now.

Had something occurred and he walked a few years ago, who knows where the club would be now!

People always say how good he's done with such little money but to be honest i don't really buy it. Last season they had Cahil, Arteta, Jagielka, Heitinga, Bilaletyinov, Distan, Howard, Felliani, Baines, Neville, Peinaar and Saha (i'll some I know of them have left and i think thats because they cant afford to keep them) and i'm willing to bet they're all on wages that are very high given where they've been in the table for the past couple of seasons

Now look at Fellaini in particular. They signed him for an initial fee of £15m! (don't know how much higher it might rise). To be honest i don't see that as doing a good job with limited funds, i see that as the same problem we had a couple of seasons ago without a owner willing to spend a lot of money to pull them out of it.
