Everton chairman told moyes there is no money for transfers unless outside investment is found. Makes me wonder what chance of lil old us being able to get money for players if a top flight team of fifty years or whatever, cant do it. Maybe, at last, for most clubs, they will have to work on ability rather than cheque books. I think the older members on here like me, would warm to that idea
Because everton arent that big a club in terms of support and been able to generate turnover. They have virtually no boxes. Add to fact they have a big debt to service, that is the reasons
we are in far a better financial state than they are making a small profit with good crowds & good merchandising sales internationally.
Why though? We made a turnover of £27.5million for the financial year June 2010, our wage bill was less than 50%, we spent barely any on transfer fees, the rent for Thorp Arch/Elland Road is estimated at £2-3million a year but we still would have made a loss without the Delph Sale. Doesn't add up to me.
Best fans It doesnt add up at all mate, espec when bates once said break even was 22000, we averaged over 25000 that season and went on big cup runs and we still lost money before selling Delph. Something not right somewhere
Everton will always be the little brother to Liverpool, the support is divided between red and blue. Leeds will never have that problem once they return.
