Went today and found the whole experience rather strange. I felt that after their first goal, the team just knew the season was over! I didnt even feel frustrated or annoyed at this which made it all the more bizarre. The championship will hopefully be a better experience and hopefully with a new team. I for one would try keep Green, onohua, traore, jenas, taarabt, mackie and one or two fringe players and add to that. The big names will probably leave and there lies the problem that has doomed us. These guys dont care less if qpr go down, they move on and pick up another big wage, their pride might be hurt for as long as it takes to sign for another team! This has been a massive, expensive and surely painful learning curve for tony and the board and I only hope they stay around to try again. Ps. Great to see that first class soft ****e cerny banned, he is and always will be a dog turd that wont leave your shoe. Good work mods.
I agree with you Bob on the need to move on our overpaid prima donnas. The fight just wasn't there today. We played well first half. The second half we were woeful. How some of those lads can pick up their fat pay cheques is beyond me. If we don't move on at least half a dozen of our players over the Summer, I will be disgusted.
I think Granero could do a job for us, if he gets his head sorted. He is a really good young player who lost it, and I'm not so sure he'll be getting too many offers from big Clubs. Thought he did well today 1st half anyway, his good passing contributed to us holding the ball better in periods than we have done for a while.
I thought was Granero was gash. Has been all season apart from his first five games. Real Madrid my arse. Perfect example of how a board has got mesmerised by the club tags rather than the player. Same goes for Park and Bosingwa. Would rather a team of 11 Jamie Mackies.
You got have gthe right mix of good tecknical players and the solid hairy bast*rds, in the Championship too. 11 Mackies and we'll be in League 1. 11 Park's and we'll be out the Football League in quick time. Bosingwa is a good RB, he even did well at LB today too for the first time I thought, but 11 of him wouldn't work either. Granero is a good player, and he played for Real Arse. That he's not done better is probably as much our Club's fault in not getting the best out of players like him and Hoillet, as it is their fault.
Oslo, ok, it was an exaggeration. I meant it from a passion and attitude perspective. Having a Taarabt type player is important too.
They were supposed to be our dream midfield partnership but both lost form and confidence very quickly as we failed to win, I'm afraid they just didn't cut the mustard...
the only good thing I can take from yesterday was the occasion itself. it was my 1st time going to an away game. the gallows humour from the our fans from brilliant. "you only won 2-0! you only won 2-0!" " que sera sera, whatever will be, will be, we're going to barns-a-ley, que sera sera" there were many others. it is a sad state of affairs though when that was the best part and not the actual match itself.
We had great possession with those two but unfortunately seemed to fashion few chances as both are more comfortable in a deeper more withdrawn role in midfield. Difficult balancing act.
He's not played for ages at Palermo after their manager was sacked so he'll be rock-bottom in confidence. I really don't think Harry rates him...
