Reading Martin Allen's comments from earlier in the week about the 4 players he has placed on the transfer list, I noted that he said that he would have another look at the squad after the coventry match to see if there is anyone else he wants to make available for transfer. I'm thinking this is just Allen delaying the news as placing around 6 or 7 to the transfer list in one go would absolutely destroy team morale. Thinking about it I feel there are three players I that will go on the transfer list:

Adam Barrett: No doubt he was brilliant last season but this year he is being caught out more and more. The defence has to changed up and I feel Barrett currently isn't worth a place in it.

Charlie Allen: Hasn't played an awful lot this season and think that Martin may have decided that, if he is to get rid of some players who he feels aren't pulling their weight, Charlie has to be near the top of that list.

Joe Martin: Now Joe has played well all the time he has been at Gillingham but feel this will be like the Whelpdale transfer listing in the way we may actually get some money for them in January instead of the genuine offloading everybody else seems to be.

'Offloading' or selling players.......better players cost more money. Trimming the playing staff to pay for better but far fewer players?? Our playing staff is of skeletal proportions already. Injuries, illness, and suspensions all take their toll.
Unless MA has a decent sized 'war chest' to supplement any income from players that we put on the list I fear that we may be in bigger trouble than I thought.
Of all the promoted teams we are doing by far the worst. Rotherham and Steve Evans are in a playoff position whilst we are staring down the barrels of relegation.
Coventry I believe will see us off with too much trouble and they are only there in the bottom group due to a points defecit at the start of the season.

I really do believe that this is going to be a long and hard winter for us. I pray that I am proved wrong.......
