Even Grayson Doesn't Expect Promotion?

So most fans are expecting a play-off spot and Grayson is already warning fans to lower expectations

He also says that we can expect two further signings, (probably the loan players?)... Interesting that he said squad number wise we are down but that allowed us to turn down bids for Gradel and Snodgras.. I just can't believe money is that tight at Elland Road....

Now before someone complains I am all doom and gloom, Grayson is just repeating what I already believe. I see us finishing mid table, around 9th so his words are not surprising in the slightest. I am relieved in a way that Grayson accepts the team is not as strong as he would like to mount a promotion push but his hands are financially tied.

grayson didnt say he doesnt expect us to not get promotion, he told fans to lower their expectation because we generally believe we should be promoted easily but it is a hard league to get out of, no team can really expect promotion incluiding west ham

He wants to lower the expectation so that if we dont get promotion, he doesnt lose his job basically i think

 

If he doesn't aspire to be promoted he should look elsewhere.we are leeds,
promotion is the only aim.

 

ofcourse its the aim, its the aim for every team in the championship essentially and i think he has built a squad capable of promotion without the couple of signings that he say he is going to make, but you dont want fans to just expect promotion. It doesnt work like that, i would love to see the back of the championship and i am optimistic of promotion but at the same time you cannot expect it

our aim is promotion but you dont expect promotion. Its like saying Chelsea's aim is to win the champion's league. They dont expect to win it though. Your aim is always optimistic and your expectation is normally a little bit more reasonable, sometimes a little bit pessimistic.

Expect the worst, hope for the best is a famous saying and it applies in football to an extent (although i wouldn't necessarily expect the worst)

Would you sack grayson if we didnt get promotion? because then he wouldnt have got our expectations for the season according to you

 

Our aim is promotion,and surely chelsea's aim is to win the champins league,like I care.

I kinda think this is a pointless debate to be honest becuase it doesnt really affect how we attack our new season or anything like that

I dont think you can just expect to get promoted, life isnt that easy. Obviously that is our aim but you cant just get promoted with the likes of west ham, birmingham, blackpool, Reading, Cardiff and so on in the league. Hes basically saying that it is not an easy league to get out of
