I sometimes worry when I see his name in the starting lineup, but to be fair lately he has looked a lot more confident with less mistakes, I think having Ferdinand alongside him helps a lot.

Agree - it's definitely helped having Evans, Rio and De Gea playing together for a few games in a row. They're still making a few mistakes, but they are getting better the more they get used to each other.

Still unconvinced, though he did well today, best game he's had in ages. Rio at fault for the 'pool goal though.

Evan's has been great for the past few months, he's starting to show the level of play we expected of him a few years ago. Last season he was extremely poor, but he's recovered from that, and looks like a solid CB.

evans has been much better than rio or de gea this season. id be more worried about rio in the defence than any other player these days, caught out at chelsea and again today.

Its amazing what a run of games can do for a players confidence and form. He has played well for a good few weeks now. Still has lapses and was nearly caught out today when he was trying to be too cute with the ball in the 2nd half. If Rio can guide him along and keep talking to him, Evans will be fine for the rest of the season. Playing with the same players in the back four also helps.

Can't fault Fergie for having faith in him, even when he was v poor last season.

I was thinking the same thing. He had taken a high ball and with the utmost composure plucked it out of the air and moved forward like he was Franz Beckenbaur. But he tried a drag back one time and nearly got caught. But I'm glad he has the confidence to play football as well.
