    So sad to hear of the passing of one of the true great footballers. Along with Pele, Garrincha, Puskas et al, a true legend.

    Yes, a great player, and the first of many excellent players produced by Portugal.

    Remember him well from 66 world cup and
    man united v benfica final in 68.

    One of my all time favourites when watching as a youngster, on a par with Pele, just never got quite the same recognition.

    This takes me back to when the World Cup was genuinely exciting. The chance to see these players who were merely names, when the World Cup wasn't just an addendum to the PL and other top leagues. Now I couldn't give a damn about the World Cup or the FACup and I guess I'm partly to blame for that. All I care about is City staying in the PL and in many ways that is very depressing.
