European International Leagues

Some of you may remember last season, that I stumbled upon a football simulator sit where you can basically pit any two international sides against each other and it gives you a result. I did “World FA Cup” type competition on there, which some of you followed.

Well I’ve now taken the 53 European (UEFA) countries and made a league, with 18 teams in The Premier League, 18 in the Championship and 17 in League One. I’ve simply used the latest FIFA rankings to place each team in the correct division.

As far as the Home nations are concerned, this puts England in the Premier League, Scotland and Wales in the Championship and Northern Ireland in League One.


After 8 games England are 5th in the Premier League. Italy are top and the three relegation spots are occupied by Switzerland, Montenegro and Croatia.

England’s results so far:

Home:
Bosnia – W 2-1. Czech Rep – W 2-1. France – D 1-1. Greece – W 2-0.

Away:
Croatia – W 2.1. Denmark – L 0-1. Germany – L 1-2. Italy – L 0-1



The Championship is being led by Sweden, with Scotland in 14th and Wales propping up the table. They are joined in the relegation zone by Albania and Poland

Israel – D 0-0. Rep Ireland – D 0-0. Serbia – W 1-0. Slovenia – L 1-2.

Away:
Poland – L 0-3. Romania – L 1-2. Slovakia – W 1-0. Sweden – L 1-3.


Wales’ results so far:

Albania – D 1-1. Slovakia – W 2-1. Sweden – L 1-3

Away:
Armenia – L 0-2. Austria – L 2-4. Bulgaria – L 0-1. Slovenia – L 0-1. Turkey – L 0-1



Lithuania are leading the way in League One with Northern Ireland in 3rd place.

Two more games since then, so 10 played. Norway are hovering just above the relegation zone in 15th, a point ahead of 16th placed Switzerland. 2 wins, 3 draws and 5 losses so far, including a 3-1 home win against Spain! They got thumped 5-0 away to Germany though.

 

Where are Iceland? You should post all three tables

 

Iceland are 12th in the Championship after 8 games.
