Hopefully we will now have nothing to do with Europe from now on.

The Frogs and the Nazis are desperate for complete domination. So **** em I say. They want all the perks with the minimal effort and spending. Who won the Wars anyway??

Hopefully the Lib Dems will also be finished after selling out to their supporters for a sniff of power. Did they really think that their say would actually count for something? **** em too.

If Britain does leave the EU,would a Scottish independance referendum victory mean that they would rejoin on their own?

No. Scandinavian countries manage very well indeed.

Strange bedfellows the French and the Germans. But then maybe not since most of France collaborated with the Germans in WWII.

Im no Tory but I completely agree with David Cameron and the party on this one.

<laugh> I heard that a couple of weeks ago from someone I know who works in finance for a big German company. Wouldn't be surprised if it was actually started by Sarkozy to frighten everyone into agreeing to something.

Germany and France could make life difficult for the UK. Contrary to what ER said in the OP it is Britain that wants all the perks whilst sitting out the parts they don't fancy. This isn't over by a long chalk, never mind it being 'Checkmate'.

I think Cameron is actually quoted as saying he wants to pick and choose what parts affect Britain

I think that's perfectly fair, after all the rest of Europe seem to be playing with their own set of rules when it comes to fishing quotas and the like.

That's an enforcement issue, not really a case of not signing up to an agreement

Yes and no government in Europe cares about enforcing it apart from ours.

    Correct Dev.

It's a case of them telling us "Don't do as we do, do as we say".

Sarkozy is a little **** hellbent on power as is is Frau Angele.

    Well **** 'em.

Let them make it difficult. Why when every country is desperate for independance are Europe so hellbent on having a bureaucratic minefield in terms of The United States Of Europe??

France and Germany don't actually want Britain anyway so it's a win win scenario all round.

We can still trade with European countries but there are other more lucrative markets around the world. And if anyone disagrees just look at the mess that Europe is in now.
