Hi Swans, LFC fan in peace.

I've just been looking at the fair play league and you guys are top of it, does this mean you're handed a Europa league spot like Fulham were last season?

    Current FP table

    2 Tottenham Hotspur
    3 Manchester United
    4 Manchester City
    5 West Bromwich Albion
    6 Norwich City

    8 Fulham
    9 Sunderland
    10 Everton
    11 Liverpool
    12 Wolverhampton Wanderers
    13 Queens Park Rangers
    14 Chelsea
    15 Wigan Athletic
    16 Blackburn Rovers
    17 Bolton Wanderers
    18 Aston Villa
    19 Newcastle United

Hi Bozz. Unfortunately it doesn't matter this season. We've discussed this on here before and apparently the Prem has to be in the top 3 European leagues and it isn't. Don't get us started on Suarez! <laugh>

Not sure if i want us to be in the europa league.potential money spinner, but with the squad we have at the moment, any injury or suspension might be detremental to premership survival, i really dont tink we have the quality strength in depth to cope

Really??? I thought we only had to finish at the top of the Fair Play league table. How do we find out which leagues are included and what the current standings are?

Also, if we were to get in via this route, what sort of teams are we looking at to start with?
FC Twente end of the market or straight in to the big guns?

The Premier League is miles off in about 9th I think. This simply won't happen this year, feels a little bit like we've been cheated out of this reward, but like many others have said, it would put quite a strain on our resources, despite the fact it would have been a hell of an adventure.

Swansa Mods - Can we pin something saying we won't qualify for the Europa League as this is about the tenth thread on the topic.

Forget about qualification though. Even though our lads have been angels, the English teams have conspired to stop a Welsh team qualifying by making sure they do not finish in the top 3 leagues!

I apologise for clogging up your forum, tbf I didn't look for a similar thread so it's a mistake on my part <ok>

With regards to the europa league, I have heard that teams do not turn a profit until the later rounds anyways and most clubs that take part do so at a financial loss... plus there is the extra strain on the squad, etc

anyways, it's been good watching you guys in the premier league this season, Rodgers looks as though he is setting up a side which will stay in the league year in year out for the forseeable which is also good. Hopefully you guys will have a few european adventures as well <ok>

Yeah cheers for the thought, but as has been previously mentioned the Premier League's overall performance has let us down! It'd be interesting to see how our scores compare with the people at the top of the other fair play leagues?

Don't know how you can say we've been cheated. To be totally fair they top three teams in a europe-wide fair play league should quality. Are Swans in the top 3? You could just as easily say all the other teams in other countries have been cheated. But no-one's been cheat. we didn't qualify. end of story.
