He had an £8 million move to Everton break down in January 2013 and ended up moving to Norwich for a similar fee from Dutch side FC Twente. He was a star for the Netherlands in the 2014 World Cup, which then attracted the interests of then Harry Redknapp’s newly-promoted QPR. Sevilla have a long-term interest in the 25-year-old, and actually competed with the Hoops for his signature in 2013 following their Europa League win. They claim to have information from sources close to Queens Park Rangers midfielder Leroy Fer, suggesting that he wants to quit the London club "at all costs" following their relegation from the Premier League. Sevilla held negotiations with the Dutchman last summer, but ultimately he moved from Norwich City to QPR instead for £8 million, with the Spanish club unable to match the salary on offer at Loftus Road. Given that Fer apparently has no desire to play in the Championship, the door is now open to a possible approach from Sevilla, with Estadio Deportivo claiming the 25-year-old: "Is looking favourably towards a move to La Liga." Also linked by Diario de Sevilla is another QPR midfielder, 26-year-old Brazilian Sandro, who like Fer, only joined The Hoops last summer in a move costing around £10 million from Tottenham Hotspur. In addition, there is also wide speculation in the Andaluz capital that Sevilla are also considering experienced 31-year-old Felipe Melo, who is currently at Turkish outfit Galatasaray, as an alternative option. In the end, he will likely move for the player who represents the best value for money, based on the defensive midfield requirements and criteria outlined by manager Unai Emery. Sevilla are essentially looking for a direct replacement for M'Bia, who also left Loftus Road for the Sanchez-Pizjuan, with the key characteristics being a player who can offer a strong physical presence, whilst also providing the height needed to win midfield aerial duels.
Not sure how much validity there is to the story but we should be looking to sell him as soon as we can. Can't see him wanting to play a season in the Championship with Euro 2016 next year. Hope we recoup the majority of the £8 million we paid for him and reinvest it in the squad (Primarily the defence)
