Morning all. In advance of tonight's game, here's a quick quiz question. Which current Fulham first team squad member has previously scored a goal for Odense in his career? In the unlikely event of no one getting it right, I'll give the answer later this afternoon.
I'm guessing either Riise or Hangeland ... both played up in Scandinavia before away from the wind-swept,frozen tundra.
Answer time: it's Steve Sidwell. Back in 2008, Villa played Odense in the last ever year of the Intertoto (pause to remember the aptly rhyming Inamoto who shone so brightly in 2002). The away leg (for Villa) was a 2-2 draw, with one of Odense's goals an own goal from the ginger Iniesta himself. Let's hope there's not a repeat either of the score or of Sidwell's misfortune. I should get out more.
I thought we were in for an interesting fact, i.e. one of our players surprisingly playing for a Danish(?) team. Not a humdinger like that Captain!
