Europa League hotshot’s London obsession makes QPR an option

Rijeka striker Andrej Kramaric would favour a Premier League move to the capital

Europa League hotshot’s London obsession makes QPR an option

Previously linked with moves to the likes of Fulham and Chelsea, Andrej Kramaric underlined his Premier League credentials with another fine display for current club Rijeka in the Europa League this week.

The 23-year-old striker was the undoubted star in the Croatian club’s surprise 3-1 win over Feyenoord this Thursday, which came via a 13-minute hat-trick from Kramaric, whose stock continues to rise.

A recent call-up to the national team, the former Dinamo Zagreb star has already impressed at international level with two goals in his first three appearances for the Vatreni.

But it’s his form for Rijeka this season that really warrants attention, with the young forward scoring 14 goals in just 11 league appearances for the Croatian club.

And before anyone points to the likes of Bosko Balaban as an example of a striker who scored for fun in Eastern Europe but failed to deliver in the English top-flight, it’s important to note that Kramaric has scored a further six goals in the Europa League already this term.

That kind of form should make him a potential January transfer target for a whole host of Premier League clubs.

QPR new boy Eduardo Vargas may have got off the mark with a brace against Liverpool last week, but the Rs remain short on high-quality forward options and would be wise to take a closer look at Kramaric.

The striker was previously rumoured to be on Chelsea’s radar, while Fulham came close to completing a January deal for the attacker only to end their interest after slipping down into the Championship.

With London evidently a favoured destination for the striker, Kramaric could be tempted to move to Loftus Road, having seen the success enjoyed by Loic Remy since the Frenchman first moved to England with the Hoops.

QPR could certainly benefit from a forward of his potential, while the finances behind the club mean that could easily afford the Croatian – even if it does result in more Financial Fair Play issues.

With time running out for Harry Redknapp following a series of poor results, if the Rs boss is still in charge come January then Kramaric could be the man to save Rangers’ season.

This would be pretty awesome if this could happen, but I think it would depend on where we sit come the Winter break and also Inter Milan, AC Milan and Atletico Madrid are interested.

He's scored in every game this season for Rijeka and pulled off a hat trick this week in the Europa League.

Check this kid out, well he's 23, but people in Croatia are super excited about him and calling him the next Davor Suker. It gives me goose bumps to think about the damage he and Kranjcar could do.

He'll come to a team rock-bottom of the PL? With his options we won't have a chance...
