Torres has scored more goals this season than Tevez, Rooney, Aguero and Walcott. And he still gets slated the most? Bloody idiotic if you ask me.
Great pen, think he's one of those that doesn't miss like Le Tissier. As for Torres, great player, had a bad injury but class always tells, hate it when players are written off after nasty injuries
Yes but if you look at league goals you can see why. Rooney has 12 in 26, Torres has 7 in 35, which is frankly appalling for someone who cost £50 million, especially when you think RVP cost less than half of that. It's not Torres' fault Chelsea paid a stupid fee but he has been poor there.
The man has still scored 22 goals this season - how is that poor? Only RVP and Suarez have scored more for an English club. He was poor in the seasons previous to this one, but now he has regained some form. He has also scored more than Balotelli, Gomez, Higuain, Villa and Benzema this season. (To be fair, Villa and Balotelli have not had many starts)
If you want to go by stats he's got a lot in Europe this year, stats can show anything. He's a good player.
7 goals in 35 league games is poor, and for a £50 million striker, it's dire. he's done well in other competitions but most of them were against lesser sides. It'd be like saying Mclean's 29 goals in 45 games was as impressive as Fryatt's 16 in 46. You can dress it up however you like but the most important thing is the league and Torres is frankly nowhere near the likes RVP who has 25 in 35 league games. So, RVP has 18 more league goals in the same amount of games, I'd also bet he's had more assists on top.
