With news that Greece is essentially bankrupt; though this terminology is not in common use amongst the politicians of our European brethren a shocking piece of news has further added to Europe’s woes.

Mr Van Rumpoy, the president of the ailing Euro conglomerate said “It’s something we knew about in the back of our minds that was certain to happen but now its approach is closer and it’s only going to devalue the Euro zone as a whole. Birmingham is soon to play in a European cup competition.”

Amidst cries of despair, Angela Merkel; the German chancellor asked if the future Nobel Prize winner Mr Sepp Blatter could intervene but he’s been far too busy bringing the North Koreans into the international fold and mopping up the lucrative adulterated musk gland medicine market in South East Asia. His spokes person denied any wrong doing and stated that the house of Sepp Blatter was clear of any corruption before responding to Merkels plea he announced “FIFA has no interest in helping Europe stay financially solvent.”

George Osborne, the British chancellor, asked that Birmingham still be allowed to compete in Europe and wondered if perhaps the European behemoth could take over the financial day to day running’s of the city as a mandate because ‘… it wouldn’t be missed. Would you miss it? Would you?’ he asked assembled Euro MPs.

It’s thought that should Birmingham prosper or at a minimum; fail to degenerate further in Europe, other cities may take this approach and a source close to a Mr N. Quinn and E. Short of Sunderland has admitted that they are keen on this. “It’s the only way we’ll make it into Europe. We’ve tried everything else.”

Newcastle owner, Mike Ashley was reportedly keen to follow an alternate approach into Europe and has mooted, with highly paid consultants, about selling to Europe’s richest. His life partner and chairman, Derek Llambias announced that after a recent six month review costing £35 million that they are as yet undecided. “We went all over Europe looking for the best sales and to date found one or two but we’ve run out of cash so we may have to donate a few assets to carry on our good intentions”.

I think that we should all start a "boycoutt" of the EU commencing with a protest outside SJP regarding the reckless spending that seems to be going on there!
