Need either Shaw or a left winger to hold the width. Would be tempted to start Gordon.

Foden is a waste of a shirt out there (or anywhere in my opinion, of which others are available and perfectly reasonable) and he's not going to replace Bellingham. Or Arnold because that would mean replacing a defensive player with an attacking one and that gives Southgate The Fear.

Scholes did a job when he was moved. Foden can't so he's got to go.

I think Foden is getting some bad press at the moment.

Yes he got bullied out of the game on Saturday, but he shows as an accomplished left sided wing-back, or as a right sided attacking midfielder.

Yes I know he is left-footed but he looks quality linking MF to attack on the right side of a CM two.

And remember, he is also comfortable as a false 9 - So play Kane up top as the target man 9.

I'm sure Southgate must communicate with Pep.

Foden needs to be in the team and there’s a space for him. Rice, Bellingham and Foden should be our midfield trio. We don’t need two defensive minded midfielders when Bellingham is box to box and covers the DM role great at certain parts of the game when it’s required.

If you are going to play Foden on the left you need to have a fullback running outside of him.

Romania looking very good. Bookies had Ukraine odds on favourites <doh>
