FROM WIKI On 12 July, 2012, Velikonja signed a four year contract for Football League Championship side Cardiff City.[11][12][13] The whole transfer is reportedly worth â¬3,6 million and Zlatko Zahovič, director of football at Maribor, stated that the Velikonja transfer is a record high for the Slovenian PrvaLiga.[12][13][14] Maribor reportedly received a compensation of around â¬2 million, with Velikonja earning around â¬400,000 per season for a total of â¬1,6 million in four years with the Welsh side.[12][13][14] He joined his new club on 25 July after the second qualifying round of the 2012â13 UEFA Champions League.[12] He made his debut on 21 August in a 0â0 draw against Brighton & Hove Albion. So, has Malky made a cock up, because we have a lot of money appearing to be tied up here, I find it very strange that he's not featured esp given our injuries atm
i hope malky hasnt made a cockup dude,i really wish this boy well but its a lot of money if he aint gonna use him
He's just holding him back to unleash him on an unsuspecting Championship with awesome power and force!!!
He looked ok against the Toons in pre season friendly and scored a nice goal. I think he is one for the future along with Harris.
Didn't this guy just sign an extended or revised contract? If he did there cannot be mutch wrong with him can there? I seem to remember when he signed Malky said he was a signing for the future. Maybe he is just too damn good for the championship and MM is keeping him under wraps till we get to the promised land so Manure or Chelski don't steal him before we can unleash him on an unsuspecting Premiership? ............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................ But then again - - - - Maybe not!! lol
Time will tell. He looked okay against Newcastle and got his hat trick for the Development Team a couple of weeks ago. Maybe his style doesn't fit with what Malky wants at present. Perhaps not strong enough and doesn't work back like our other front runners. From the little I saw he was on the lightweight side, appeared quite quick and sought to play on the shoulder of the last defender, getting into the channels and working from there. The nearest we have had to him recently would have been Chopra but he was more physically robust. Should Malky do a Q & A it would be interesting to get a frank asnwer from him as to why Veronica isn't getting a chance.
Mason, is the main reason imo. They are basically against each other for the same 'off HH' position in the side. We also used CB there. Suprised he hasn't had more of a chance off the bench, but Rudy is a more obvious striker on the bench as a game (style) changer. Rudy also provides better cover for our goal scoring OAP HH........ I think the positive thing in this for me is Kimbo. He didn't get a look in for 10 games, we started to question whether he was good enough, from what I've seen so far ability wasn't an issue, MM just didn't need him yet. Hopefully Velikonja will be the same.
Watched him in the development game highlights on Player and he looks pretty sharp to me. Is he a better bet than Mason? Tough call and probably the answer is no. Quicker but not as cool on the ball as young Joe can be. If Mason doesn't start for any reason, Velikonja could feel aggrieved if he doesn't get a shot at it from the off, and certainly if he's denied a chance as a sub.

With this news and the updates on the injuries, MM must be an avid reader of this board. He knows what we want to hear about. MM seems to have been ture to his word with KimBo so no reason to doubt his views on Eti. It could be why he's not rushed into a replacement for Maynard, he believes Eti will be the cover. He said he was signing for the now and for the future which is borne out by the teenagers being signed for the development squad. Never mind strikers, TWO FULL BACKS PLEASE.
Sorry but to me this is crazy, at his age and with a high cost he should be good enough from the off, not as if he's 18 is it, can't see another championship side spending this amount on a maybe.
