Prediction League ESPL - Registration & Sheffield Wednesday (H)

Once again, it is time for the return of football. - is it me or does the break between seasons seem to get shorter with each passing year? Due to the pandemic related nature of the previous season, little time has passed since City overwhelmed Fulham at Craven Cottage but ultimately fell short. A new season has been broken in with an old-fashioned romping away at League One Northampton Town just to curb anyone who might have been getting too ahead of themselves following the arrival of the almighty Kieffer Moore!

The visit of Sheffield Wednesday to the CCS starts the season this coming Saturday, the Owls themselves already on -12 points following financial irregularities that seem to apply to them but not Derby The Emiliano Sala Prediction League (ESPL) gives the chance to predict City's league fixtures in the form of a light-hearted (or deadly serious) competition. It’s a good laugh and hopefully gets some of you to take an active part in the board a bit more! Comment your commitment and you'll be placed in Division I or II (as shown below) depending on where you finished last season. New members welcome!

Announcement #1 – League Rebalancing

In the interest in keeping Div II competitive, if there is the need to rebalance the numbers to keep the leagues even this will be done based on last season’s league position

Given that this will be my 10th season running the prediction league on this board and that eventually all good things must come to an end, I have decided that this will be my final season fulfilling this role (one that I have enjoyed a lot). Hopefully, this will give enough time for somebody or a group of members to come forward and carry on this role into the future

Correct Score (CS) = 4 pts [Predicted Scoreline matches the result of the match]
Correct Result (CR) = 2 pts [Predicted scoreline same as the result of the match]

Cardiff Scorers
Name one Cardiff scorer for a single point.
Can opt to predict no Cardiff scorers (by not naming a scorer) for a single point.

Three missed predictions on the bounce results in a 1 point penalty.
Predicting all 46 games = a single bonus point.

I always start the season with optimism, which is usually completely wiped out by the end of the second game!!!!!

I cant believe this is your tenth year so many thanks and congratulations.
