Which makes sense with NCFC getting embroiled in a bargain basement battle. What an incentive (as if one were needed) for Hughton to get some wins/points on the board ra-ra-ra-pido or risk missing out on our biggest ever capture http://sportwitness.ning.com/forum/...winkel-to-norwich-city-could-be-called-off-if
Well I just came on here to say what Dave said :-D It seems a bit weird that he would outright deny something. Just avoid the question at most, but dont just lie...
It is possible that he hasn't exactly lied... I.e., it may not be as simple as "if we get relegated, RvW will not join us". I imagine the clause will be a little bit more complicated than that, which is why there can be both a clause releasing RvW in certain circumstances, but McNally can claim that he could still be coming to us. What was the wording DM used on twitter?
Could it be a case of us reselling him on before he has even played a game for us? You cannot blame a striker of his abilities and aspirations not to want to play in the Championship so while we have first rights over him perhaps there is a gentlemans agreement that he would get sold on!
Rob, I can't remember exactly, but I think it was "RvW's signature is not dependent on league status". I'd guess it's perhaps a release clause if we go down, so he's effectively free to move on over the summer, but he'll still be moving from us to elsewhere, not from Sporting.
If McNally said "RvW's signature is not dependent on league status". that could mean that he (dogsdick or whatever his name is) could change his mind even if you survive in Prem this season. So then technically McNally hasn't lied.
Well it looks like McNasty has put these 'rumours' to bed http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwic...in_ricky_van_wolfswinkel_s_contract_1_2021758
He may say that, but then Villa hadnt made an approach for Lambert yet they had. He's done wonders for our club but sometimes i take things he says with a pinch of salt I wouldnt be atall suprised if he has a clause in his contract allowing him to talk to other clubs for the same price as weve paid if were relegated. There's no way he could just decide not to join us, especially with us parting with serious cash already!
I don't know you guys have noticed, but Ricky van dogdick and his agent do seem to like to use the press for their own gains, didn't he start spouting off last month about what players you were buying?
Question that should be asked is what has he got to gain by coming out and saying this, even as an ipswich i admit its a long shot you boys going down, so why come out and say that and potentially alienate yourself from the fans before you have even kicked a ball? Unless he is having second thoughts and the deal isn't as sealed as is being made out.
Alright then his agent, same thing basically. Could they have been tapped up by somebody else and are looking for an excuse?
He didn't, his agent did and it was probably in response to some heavy questioning by Dutch reporters. They've certainly subjected RvW to heavy questioning. The fact is we are not as secure as we were last month, so these questions were always going to be asked. I know I can't talk, but there is definitely scope for over-interpreting something we are unlikely to ever find out
I would think his agent is aware that we got him on the cheap and is looking for a way to increase his share!
