Ok he hadn't kicked a ball for us but wasn't he technically on our books (i.e. a City player)? Also what about Billy Wedlock?
Billy Wedlock stopped playing in the twenties. The World Cup didn't start until 1930. David James contract at Pompey didn't expire until after the World Cup had finished.
Of course re: Wedlock - I knew that about the Jules Rimet cup - did my talk about it in my French exam I thought James signed for us before though.
