    I have to agree. If you look at the time Gerrard has left in his career his best chance would be at one of the big clubs.

    Rose tinted specs ASIDE lol Only City, United and Chelsea have a shot at the title this season. Next season who knows. Although next season Gerrard will be another year older.

    I dont think collecting winners medals is as important to a player as the fans make out. Personally I would rather have gone down the Beckham path with my career than the Giggs 'medal haul' path.

    Cant beat a local lad's love for and loyalty to his club.

    Bigger picture ... I'd rather live in LA training in the sunshine and raising my kids in decent schools.

    Ericsson = dickhead.
    Considering his " love ' for a club he " supported " as a boy you would think he would appreciate the loyalty Gerrard has shown to Liverpool.
    Oops hang on I just used the word loyalty .ericsson would have no idea what that word means.

    I think that's called selling out. Beecham is all about image and money. He was ideal for a LA lifestyle but I bet if he would have loved to have come back to the premiership if he had had the chance.

    How true do you think any of what you said is?? You are buying into the image that he sells to the media and assuming an awful lot about the guy! Beckham is a father and a family man which he now puts before any personal ambitions. Gerrard hides behind this idea that loyalty is everything but we all know its just a lack of courage and a desire to stay where he feels safe.

    Not knocking him as a footballer... but he should have gone abroad after he'd won the champions league with Liverpool to prove himself on another stage.

    Yep, spot on! Even as a Liverpool fan the chance of us winning the prem in the next 2-3 seasons(the time Gerrard has left at most) are pretty low to be honest. Yes we will improve but you cannot stop your rivals from taking points and dominating.

    Having lived in LA, I would say you are possibly wrong. There are not many better places to live in the world or to bring up kids.

    I think a lot is true. Football is just a sideline for him now. Yes he is a father and I am sure a very good one but him and his talentless wife like to be seen and their "image" is a big thing for them.what better place for that than LA . I think he went there because Victoria would see it as the place to pose and pout. Money may have been an irrelevance.
    Don't get me wrong I have nothing against Beckham I just think when he left Madrid he still had a few good years in the premiership but he decided that this is what he wanted to do. Just a shame as he is/was a very good player and a good England captain.
    Better Beckham than the sad figure of michael,Owen trying to live on passed glories and make out he is still good enough for top flight football.

    Agreed, Owen hasn't dealt with his fall from grace very well at all.

    I think Beckham sold his soul when he married the twiglet! He has had the chance to join many big clubs but has decdied for the last big pay cheque in LA. I can't fault him because eh, we'd all like to do that right? But don't try and deny the fact that he and his wife are in it for the money. VB would only stay in LA because of her 'Fashion' work

    don't try to deny that Beckham has not performed well for a number of years, LA offered the lifestyle and the big bucks, as well as a lengthy contract, something he was unlikely to get from many top clubs.

    I suppose you know from experience considering Shearer got nothing after leaving Blackburn.
