Hey Everyone, just posting this to see your thoughts on the guy as it seems like he is going to be arriving maybe even before the derby, is he good, worth 7 million?

    Cheers

He's a Dutch international LB so has to have enough quality to play for the national team.

Hope it's tied up very soon.

He may not be as strong, but I won't mind so long as he doesnt fanny about in the box in stead of clearing like enrique used to do

He is a better defender than Enrique, not as good going forward.
PS Did you hear Liverpool fan on talksport yesterday, Enrique got lost in Liverpool and couldn't find the training ground, although the guy took him almost to the door.

£7m for a Dutch International (and not a one cap wonder) seems like good business. I think he'll do a solid job, and our new first choice keeper will be happy.

The deal seems te be on. PSV need the money to strengthen other parts of the team and will be very happy with the €8m offer. In my opinion, and many more in the Netherlands, that's far more than he's worth. He's a decent left back but the only reason he has now picked up a couple of caps is because there's a real lack of LB's here. After Van Bronckhorst's retirement Van Marwijk has been searching for a new LB and frankly Pieters is the lesser of evils.

Well, maybe it's for the best; he's young, he's solid enough, but if he was TOO good we'd just have to worry about him getting up and running off in a couple years time. It'd be great to be accumulating players who could establish themselves in a position for years to come

The reason he said that because his grandmother had past away last week.
He wanted to be with his family, nothing to do with a transfer.
