Just had my haircut and he was sat in the next chair (Caveman in Beverley, would recommend for anybody on here who lives nearby, it's great). Had a good chat with him, he's a really down to Earth lad and is enjoying his time at City immensley. He said his goal is to usurp (my word not his, he said take over) Watson as the #1 in the reserves and then become City's next #1. He also wants to play for Hungary. Sound goals. He could probably do it, he's very highly rated in our youth set up and I'm pretty sure he's played for the U21's a few times this season. Interestingly, he said that Penners (I assume he meant Pennock) is fielding a lot of loans for the youngsters, but apparently they're not the best fit so a lot of them have been turned down - Bukran was wanted by Gateshead, but the decision was made for him that he couldn't go and he thought he could do better. A similar situation with ter Horst and Ferriby. Is it better to let these lads be a big fish in a little pond, or wait for them to get offers from places that can offer a more professional environment (I know Gateshead are professional, but I was thinking more league clubs)?
Usually when they get sent to non-league clubs it's a bad sign for their careers, so many players of ours end up places like Brid Town on loan and then get frees. I suppose that's football, not all the kids will get a break and will have to accept that they won't get a chance at a league team.
